Here is Billy Murray and the American Quartet singing Moonlight Bay, Music by Percy Wenrich and Lyrics by Edward Madden and recorded in Dec. of 1911 on a Victor Grand Prize Record #17034. The Victrola is a Victor Model VV-VI, the best selling of all Victor Table Model Victrolas, which was first offered for sale in late August of 1911.

I just bought this 78 rpm today and another 78 rpm, which had both the Peerless Quartet and the Haydn Quartet on it.

i love it.....thank you so much for a great song and a great vocal by billy and the american quartet, not to mention the great player. i especially like the second verse which is not heard very often, if at all.

And there was a film Made in 1951 staring Doris Day of the same Name and I didn't know about this Recording which has got to be Over a hundred years old and the Recording has got to be made about 1917

@victrolaman I love the 1911 recording of That Mysterious Rag by American Quartet and Billy Murray, but I'm not sure if they are the original creators of that song, do you know? It's my favorite version by far.

Love your video and i love the sound of your needle is it true you have to change the needle every time you pay a record > i just aquired mine victrola all there for 200 with ton of record i haven't been able to go threw all the record but what dou clean the records with ?

Steel needles yes. But in this case I am using a fibre needle made of bamboo. I can use this stylus numerous times and keep repointing it, until it is too short to play an more, then it gets tossed out.
