How To Install Casement Window Seal For Portable Air Conditioner Exhaust Pipe (Hose)?

In this video, we will show how to install the casement window seal kit for the exhaust pipe of the portable air conditioner.
The window seal kit will prevent the hot air from getting in and will keep the cold air inside. This way the room will get cool sooner and you will save money on your electrical bill.
In our video, the window opens outside and we installed the window seal on the outside of the window and the window frame (our window is easily accessible from the outside). But you can still install the window seal on the inside even if your window opens outside. The velcro tape gets installed on the inside of the window and the window frame and the window seal goes on top.

Well, as an example: in Ukraine most windows open inwards :) The installation for the outwards case is simple in this video due to having a balcony. If it was a straight wall on some 17th floor it would be an issue xD

I have the same type of window but it's larger at 111cm x 56 cm which is still under 400cm. I didnt understand how it works from the instructions but it's worth a try. Thank you for the video!

Is this what the n Europe because I hear the windows open inwards and doors outwards in Europe compared to the United Kingdom because even though my window 🪟 opens outward in the United Kingdom i fitted the kit inside so I can keep the kit in and close the window when I go out without havving to take it off every time. I also fold the top part into the hinge gap area it is a much better seal but sash windows 🪟 with the blocker kit are so much better I fitted screws to stop the window opening and having air conditioner on over night 😆I also use duct tape and the zipper part I do not use 😜also I would say when closing try not to tear the fabric. I got my kit from Amazon and air conditioner from class ohlson 😊

Wounder if you tried removing the sticky velcro? It damages your frame unless you use very stronge (dangerous to breath in) chemicals (only way to not damage frame & remove the glue left behind) I did this on a upvc white window frame so wouldn't advise on coloured frame, use nano tape instead but the red stuff, damage less, heat & water prove Hope this helps

It works great to cool down one room. If you want to cool down more than one room, it would make sense to get more than one unit.

Hi shouldn’t this be constructed on the inside of the window rather than the outside? That way the window closes without moving the overlap, and the Velcro is protected from the elements, or am I wrong? Many thanks.

You can install it on either side of the window. We chose to do it outside since our window is accessible from the balcony. BTW, you can still fully close the window even if the seal is installed outside. How lucky you are to get only a 1,30 long and 0,63 wide windows measurings. Many people have windows openings much much longer and wider than yours and it seems to be very difficult to find out joint lengths with a suitable caulking

Nice video - word of warning....it doesn't work if you have to hang a hose from a velux window. The zippers can't take the weight of the hose and it just keeps falling out. If someone has a workaround for this I would love to hear it.

You can install the window seal from the inside as well. Just attach the velcro tape to the interior window frame and the window. It is going to work almost the same way. The only difference is if you want to close the window you might need to remove the window seal material. Hang on, if the window frame perimeter is 386cm and you need to stick the velcro tape on the window frame AND the window itself, you're gonna need about 800cm of tape. As far as I can see it only comes with 1x400cm so this is misleading.

The 400cm refers to the length of the window seal material itself and not the velcro tape. The length of the tape is more than enough.

Brilliant if you've got a balcony to stand on !!!! Otherwise how can you install it when you have a sloping Conservatory roof below that can't be stood on and I can't put a ladder up. ?? Rubbish.

This video demonstrates how to install the window seal in general. You can attach it inside as well if you like. We did it this way, since our window is accessible from the outside. This way I can easily close the window in case I don't want use the air conditioner without removing the window seal.
