You know, it really, really irritates me when these announcer people say that Yuzu is NOT consistent. He is CONSISTENTLY in the top three and on the podium!!!! That looks pretty consistent to me. What the hell are they expecting? By their criteria it's all the skaters rated under the top 5 or 6 that would have their version of "consistency" which is why they never progress any further. None of the top skaters have predictable consistency. And what does that even mean anyway? They talk about Yuzu like he's supposed to be superhuman every time he skates and it seems to me that what they call inconsistency is their unreasonable expectations.

@@kadovax6567 I have heard that they are "selective" about who to support and this is not good. Whilst I critise RusFed and USAFeds for their power in ISU, I also respect how they support their own athletes no matter what. This is how a sports organisation should be: standing behind the athletes who represent them and their country.

Юзуро Ханю не то ,что прыгает грациозно, он и падает грациозно!!!! Это отдельное пооизведение искуства. Весь Юзуро Ханю, это пооизведение искуства. Прыжки у него самые красивые.... Он добавляет к ним свою изюминку. ..и это уже не ,,луц,,,тулуп,,,или этот злощастный ,,аксель,,, в его исполнении все прыжки Ханюиты,Юзуриты, ЮзоХанюджампы.......обожаю этого заю. Спасибо боже, за такой подарок фигурному катанию.

8:54 the most ridiculous thing is that ISU decided to stop calling out edge calls for Russia since Russian federation call on isu to stop inconsistent judging ONLY FOR ANNA while other skaters get every calls on their jumps. it does not make sense

All in all some of the judges broke down their own rules, nice goe for failed landings and disappointing goe for great executions. They played everything according to their mood.... 😒😒😒😒

The biggest issue for me is inconsistency and the fact that one mistake/fail could have a deduction from -1 to -4. How can it be consistent?

A well thought analysis!! Yes totally agree with you! Even the judging criteria and structure are flawed! I was an artistic gymnastic fan before becoming a figure skating fan. Though there are some issues in fairness of gymnastic scoring too, but I think figure skating's GOE judging should take into reference their D-scoring. Like each jump should have that basic value (with max GOE), then if they commit this mistake, deduct 0.1, that mistake deduct 0.2 etc. Instead of now, with GOE basically like a bonus handed out by the judges because they know this or that skater used to get this kind of GOE..

...do we have specific examples or are we just talking trash because we're anti certain federations? Like, I don't even know why Nathan's jump at 2019 Worlds and Shoma's jump at World's 2021 are even being compared. Both had a forward lean in their landing but Nathan actually landed his jump cleanly outside of the lean. Shoma spun around the ice a few times on his landing. It's ridiculous anyone would expect a similar GOE for those two landings.

Actually ISU love PAWN and they can be American Russian or even Japanese like Shoma/Yuma. They use them against more talented/better skaters... but bought medals and inflated scores cannot bring the love/respect... They can make some ppl fool but most ppl are not blinded by the corrupt judging system, ppl with eyes and brains can see what's going on...

Yes they do have favs and winners are decided in advance (unless they make too many mistakes) like 2014 Sochi, 2017 Worlds, 2018 Olympics (Yuzu was not the decided winner) he destroyed ISU's planned events and changed the FS history... though they put a full stop on him from winning over (decided winner) after 2018 with more (blatant unfair scoring) but they failed to convince the audience that (paper champion) was better than the GOAT :)

Looking at the score sheet it seems Maia 4s didn't count as fall while gracie 's 3lz 3t counted as a fall

Very good observation! Yes when it comes to 2 hands down, it’s really up to the judges discretion on whether that’s a fall. For Gracie’s case in worlds 2016, all judges gave her -3 so they deemed it as fall. In Maia’s case in junior worlds 2020, 7 out of 9 judges deemed it as fall and gave -5 GOE. 2 judges didn’t think it’s a fall, so they gave -4. Hence such GOE..

🤔 I popped jump. Don't care. I made it look good, like as if it were choreographed. I failed/fell jump. Don't care. Did it gracefully and recovered gracefully to continue skate. Must make quick decision...to the best end result on skate. Medal. 🏅 Nice, but not necessary. I already made it to competition, am professional.

Oh that issue with Anna's unclear edge started long before the Olympics. And now I am surprised with that funny scoring at Olympics. Seems I should give up on figure skating because of the judging.

Haha it was different era and they didn’t have such GOE deductions yet. It’s 6.0 era. She actually won with that 2-footed landing jump :p

8:39 The thing is Anna's GOE would have been higher. Judjes stuck pluses and minuses Despite whatever people say Anna has a great flow in her jumps, that's why she has a high goe. And clearly she has less Goe with unclear edge

I'm an Anna fan. I don't think the intention of the editor for that part was to criticize Anna's GOE, but to point out the difference between having strong federation support vs not having the support on the GOE bonus point of the skaters..

which she most of the time got away with. So the video still rings true, if she is not coming from Russia she will get called more and not that one time only (CoC 2019). I'd say even without applying the unclear edge her jumps are worth +3 at most. So the score at that CoC would be the most accurate representation.

9:09 У Каори Сакамото действительно очень сильно неверное ребро на лутце, и в этом фрагменте это прекрасно видно. Лезвие конька даже бликует, отражая свет от светильников на потолке в камеру, которая выше бортиков находится, то есть наклон внутрь очень-очень сильный. У Анны Щербаковой в самом крайнем случае неясное, однако с такого ракурса однозначно сказать нельзя, а значит трактуется в пользу фигуриста.

ジャンプ失敗集ね。試合や選手によって、ルール通りに減点されてないのが多いよね。例えば、転倒の分は減点されても、エッジエラーまたは回転不足の分までは減点されていないとか。

正直、ジャッジが操作しているのは見え見えなんだよね。特に平昌五輪前後辺りから見え始め、平昌五輪後はあからさま。昔から政治が絡んでいると聞いていたし、特にフィギュアスケートは不正がしやすい。そしてアメリカとロシアは、ルール作りまでも支配している。日本が幾ら協賛金を出しても、ISUや五輪の大手スポンサーはアメリカであり、完全に蚊帳の外。だからアメリカの言いなりである日本が、思った通りにルール改正される訳がない。特に羽生選手は、国内でも派閥争いがあり、弱い東日本選手としてかなり不利。後はスケ連の思い通りに動いてくれないのも忌み嫌われている理由。羽生選手は日本人には珍しく、自分の意思をしっかり持っていて、その考えを曲げないからね。それに昔の6.0式のように、ジャッジしている人の名前と顔と国が点数を出す度に明確にわかり、誰が誰にどの位の点数を出したかというのが、テレビでたまたま見たという一般視聴者の目に入る事がない。それを知るのは、フィギュアスケート好きが試合前にジャッジの国と名前を知り、試合後にプロトコルを見て照らし合わせて確認する位。そういう状況ではたぶん不正は暴かれないし、わかりにくいと思う。6.0式から今の採点方式に変わったのは、不正をなくす為と言われていたりするけど、ルールは細か過ぎる上に明確性があるようでなく、コロコロと変わり過ぎて、ジャッジがついて来れてない。そしてより不正がまかり通りやすくなったし、その不正が巧妙にもなって来ている。AIを入れたがらない理由を理解しかねるが、こういう現状を見ると理解出来てしまう悲しさ、悔しさ、情けなさ…。

まあ、採点操作の件で挙げてみるとフィギュアの場合、特定の選手(国籍問わず)を優勝させるために、pcsの爆上げ(選手によって上げ方が違うが。)、着氷ミス以外の間違ったジャンプの減点の見逃し、+5の乱発、スピンとステップなどのレベルをすべて4(レベル4の条件を満たさなくても)にするぐらいですかね。あと、ジャッジ同士の取り引きもありましたね。かなり前ですが。

@@LenaLight0204 PCSに関しては、もう鼻で笑うレベル。ジャンプ前のトランジションなんか必要ない。点数にならないような省けるものは全て省く、と言っているようなコーチに付いている某選手と、ありとあらゆる技や繋ぎを入れながらのジャンプと巧妙で表現力のあるシークエンスを踏んでいる羽生選手が、何故かほぼ同じPCS。どこを見てジャッジしているのかと、ため息と落胆と呆れが一気に込み上げて来て、あっ！そういう事だったね、と思い出して鼻笑いとイライラに変わる。もうここまでファンに不正や操作がまかり通っている事が知れ渡り、呆れられた現状をどう思っているのだろうか。某選手のステップは、陸上でやってくれ！と言いたくなるようなステップ。足捌きは？って感じ。これは選手以上にコーチに問題があると思っているんだけどね。 ISUは、どうにでもなる、誤魔化せる、このまま行けると思っているのだろう。今後フィギュアスケートが見放される未来しか見えない。

I am not a fan of FS and I only started watching videos of Yuzu recently and I am mesmerized. But there is one thing that I don't understand. To my understanding falling can be dangeourous so why is it that the ISU basically encourages them to do jums that they know will fail at the take off. Why is it better to risk your health than actually go for a perfect less point jump. I understand they have the program sorted out and they should do what's inside the program. But if for some reason like hole in the ice or couldn't gain enough momentum or whatever reason they know they won't be able to finish the original jump without falling why can't they just get the points for the lower point jump and for its execution. I am kinda mad about this. Because the encourage them to fall pointlessly in my eyes.
