Thank you Mr Steele! From this video I went from absolute beginner to flying. For those whom are also starting for the first time, a couple of things I found that I needed more info to get going 100%. 1) With the Kiss PDB board you need to solder the 5v and the little pad next to it to bridge them to get the video transmitter powered. 2) You need to install the Kiss GUI software and connect to the quad, in the 'Configuration' tab create an 'Arm' switch under 'AUX Functions', select AUX1 Medium + High, you then need to program your transmitter model to include an ARM switch. 3) With the battery connected to the quad, plug into the Kiss GUI software, then use the 'ESC Flasher' tab in the Kiss GUI software, there you can reverse motors 2 & 4. Hope this helps someone.

Just a tip from someone who streams semi regularly. You have enough cameras. Look into running OBS (streaming software) and enabling 2 cameras and allowing you to do much more than just raw stream from a device. (Software is free btw) That way you can not only completely customize the layout of the stream. Also the availability to enable 2 camera angles so you can set up one cam like you did, and another for the close up soldering and components. Easily set with the push of a key on your laptop. Just a suggestion. If you ever want help setting this up I could do it easily for you in a matter of minutes. Feel free to reach out to me if you’re interested 👍

Watching this makes for some real good refresher material. Also an interesting progression from the previous build stye you had (TBS Core PnP days). Lots of minor changes in parts but also in the way you dress your quads. I'm pretty well versed at builds but can definitely still spot a few areas where my current freestyle builds are slacking a bit. Good food for thought. Also makes me wish real bad for two products which would simplify or improve many FPV lives, possibly including yours: 1. For Trappy to make us a legit Immortal L antenna (pretty confident that mini quads need the better polarity coverage more than 10km max range) 2. For Flyduino to make a 'Mr. Steele Edition' 32 amp KISS 4 in 1 ESC that integrates the mic & OSD, plugs right into the KISS FCs and is designed to work with any normal 30.5x30.5 frame build and not just the Alien (no offence but not all of us KISS people fly Aliens). Since they did a PDB with you just for the Alien maybe with you they'd finally do a proper fully featured no excuses 4 in 1 which works for a ton more KISS setups. Hey, one can dream I guess. I'll still fly KISS without that stuff but man, Betaflight software and hardware is just evolving like crazy in terms of ease of use and ease of install by comparison. Make a 2 hour build vid, get a long ass response I guess. Hey, whatever man - keep at it & peace out! PS I like to tape around those foam landing pads with hard shiny tape so the quad can land soft or skid for ages.

@2:50, about the soldering compound, what matters over all these numbers is : SN63PB37, means 63% tin, 37% lead :) And 0.8mm diameter.

I built this quad with the original mr Steele pdb, after a hard crash it broke the pdb were the arms connects to the frame, good to see the v2 uses the same mounting method as the Reverb wolf pdb.

In addition to the capacitor at the battery terminal, you can add a TVS diode to attenuate the voltage spike during connection (helps save the batteries), for a 6S with breaking voltage at 28V would work fine (like a SA28A)

The soldering iron is HAKKO FX888D I bought it just after it was released here in Japan and now I see it turn out to be very good choice. So many people started to use it all around the world cause it has very good quality/price ratio. It is not cheap but performs great and definitely worth this additional money compared to a basic ones.

About cleaning the soldering joints with alcohol. If you use tin that uses corrosive additives ( FluX ) you need to clean the joints after soldering otherwise its fine to leave them uncleaned.

When watching build videos I've noticed the common trend of cutting up props to protect the ESC's. I don't know who started the trend but I wish a company would design a nice looking cover for the ESC's instead of having to destroy props old or new. Maybe this is something that can be added to the Ethix product line? Maybe offer them in different colors including the signature watermelon colors? Thank you for all the hard work that you put into this Hobby and putting out great videos!

I’m running 45amp 4in1 in 4s but 6s capable on 1404 3000kv mamba motors on a 3” Roma l3 with a clracing f722 32mb fc that’s 8s capable. Feels good.

If you get the port 1 and port 2 wires mix it fries your ESC's and FC leaned the hard way, all is good though I've been want to upgrade from 24A to 32A ESC and it was a good excuse.

Hole no. 5 on the K plate is 20 degrees. The first hole is 0 degrees, so 2 is 5, 3 is 10, 4 is 15, 5 is 20, 6 is 25. Please tel me I’m wrong my dude 🤘 Thanks for the idle up video you did, helped me get my set up sorted 👍

Built one !!! If I managed you will too))) My first soldering experience and first drone! Few tips from total a noob: 1. Get the proper tools! 2. Work Place will be a mess so keep everything structured. 3. Check that power wires are the same length. (big power one) 4. Cover ESCs with some paper sticky tape before soldering(to prevent splashes) 5. To make motors spin you Mast: bind to RC+ switch to Crossfire in kissGUI+ flash ESCs. 6. You will have to improvise a bit with Antena setup but it's not a big deal. 7. Configure channel endpoints in KissGui +failsafe +buzzer etc. Good luck everyone!

Yep failsafe setting is importend. Why do you don't use a 4" Body ? Next question. I use one of the firstz Mr.Steele PDB. There is an issue. If i make a hard flip or turn. The Picture disapear for a half the second. I am not the only one with this issue. Is there fix ? I used a 1000µf cap. but don't helped... by the way nice build video and many usefull tips

When you select which vtx power in the kiss gui you want to run, does this automatically unlock the tbs unify pro vtx? Also is the low power option for when the quad is disarmed and high power option for when armed?

Attention!!!!! Make sure you use the shorter screws from the run cam swift two kit to install the two K-Plates, if you use the longer of the two it WILL thread into the sensor board on the run cam and damage it..... ! Ask me how I know. 😖

All Kiss Flight controller run at 1K loop time, you can change it but anything above 1K automatically turns off the Dynamic Adaptive filtering.. it's designed to run 1K, so leave it on 1K and prepare to get mind blown !!! 🤯... Hahaha ..

Saved up forever to do this build and someone snagged it first flight. Landed a ways out because it was drifting and when I went to grab it GONE. RSSI slowly disappeared. No buzzer sounding off nothing. Fucking heart breaking. I loved the way that thing looked so much. I’m gunna have to do this build again.

at 18:30 you mentioned that washers are used to "avoid scratching the carbon", it's not actually true. The general use for washers under a bolt head is to distribute the clamp load to a larger area, since the head makes very little contact with the part (considering the hole is also larger than the diameter of the bolt shank). It is especially useful for carbon panels, as even though carbon is very strong and stiff, it is very weak in dealing with point loads, such as torqued bolts. You might say it works for you without washer, blabla, but just saying that washers are not used to avoid scratches but to distribute the clamp load at the joint with aim to avoid pull-through failure. I would agree though that the PDB & FC boards are not exerting tremendous loads on the panel, but for the rest of the frame I would say that washers are a good idea.

I have a question regarding the camera mount. You said count to 5 and thats 25 deg. Not to doubt you but I was under the impression the first slot is 0 deg which would make the 5th hole 20 deg. Is this correct or was I misinformed?
