I’ve been through a LOT just over the 2.5 years since my wls on 10/31/19. But prior to that I started getting sick 15 years ago . The list of what’s wrong would astound you lol . But I’ve been told many .. many times that people don’t know how I’ve gone thru as much as I have . I don’t typically complain cuz I learned years ago people don’t really care about you once you’ve become chronically Ill and serve them no purpose . Or they just get sick of hearing about it . But I always joke I’ve had a black cloud following me since my early 20s and I’m just used to it and my pain sadly. I aim for the best and expect the worse - case in point I just had spine surgery 7 weeks ago and now have more pain than I did before but in my sciatica now which is involving my leg more than before :/ .

Something that bothers me about Amber and the scooters is her assumption that the “skinny and young” people she sees on the scooters are just using them for fun. I’m a young disabled person who would benefit from the use of a scooter but I don’t use them due to people like her assuming I’m just messing around. As someone who works with seniors, I can tell you that filming/photographing in the residents home is extremely inappropriate, even if she isn’t directly showing them. Even when you get permission, it should only be done with residents who have the cognitive ability to consent, and in fact DO consent. Privacy is paramount in this environment. I don’t know why, maybe its because of my work, but this is one of the more frustrating things she did in my opinion.

HIPPA violations. When I worked at a long term care facility privacy was a top priority. Residents rarely had any privacy so it’s very important to them and their family. We also had constant inspections from different organizations and services. When the state would make their inspections it was serious business. No one would dream of filming their vlog inside the facility so the very fact she did film in the home was breaking a top rule. At facilities like a long term care home every employee that works there aggressively protects the residents privacy as they should, not recording them.

It was probably a bad move to announce on camera though at 4 weeks. Most couples keep the circle of who knows about a pregnancy pretty tight until nearly the end of the first trimester because that’s when the risk of a miscarriage goes way down and it is a hard, awkward thing to have to explain to people over and over when you’ve just had a loss. I get why Destiny knew. I just think it’s a terrible idea for Amber to make it public and knowing her pattern it probably wasn’t with express permission.

I feel like a horrible person for being relieved when Amber was crying about never being able to have children of her own after she got a hysterectomy. As a woman I would be devastated myself, but good god she’s one of the few people I’ve ever seen where I just know they’d be a terrible parent. She still hasn’t even tried to address her addiction to food. No child deserves to be in that environment where the parent is incapable of taking care of themselves and putting their children first

It’s deeper than that too. Amber barely got out of high school. She talks about getting suspended multiple times, badgering her teachers in every period to go to the bathroom so she could roam the halls and call people “hood rats” or make silly noises in the bathroom. I guarantee this poor teacher had a “please God somebody has got to reach this kid or she’s got no hope” realization and really worked on connecting with her about reading and writing and taking care of herself. And Amber was 17 too so a big kid who should have realized someone was really trying hard to help her, not a baby. Don’t you know this teacher felt like all her effort got thrown in her face

I feel so bad for the nurse that had to deal with her hand. As someone with a genetic disorder (that's required many surgeries and causes arteries and organs to rupture) I can't stand how OTT she is. The way Amber acts with a small cut is embarrassing. The way she acts in hospitals is infuriating. Just the way she treats nurses and doctors is terrible. So entitled. She's incredibly whiny about every tiny thing. She acted all enlightened after finding out that her nurse had leukemia, but she didn't learn anything at all, she still acts obnoxious in any kind of medical setting.
@vaughnhaney7020
@vaughnhaney7020 2 жыл бұрын
Tbf while she's way too dramatic with all the comparison stuff, I can understand freaking out over little things. I have a severe needle phobia that was only made worse when I needed injections once every two weeks for a while (to the point where I just straight up quit the medication against medical advice and needed to find an alternative). I used to break down crying from the fear when I needed a blood draw or injection or something, to the point where at one point I literally fought the nurses to escape and ran away. I was like, 16, so not a little kid. It took a lot of hard and expensive therapy burning through multiple therapists that made things worse to find a solution... And that solution is actually to be very dramatic, I need to inform the nurses about my phobia and go through a whole (rather long) self soothing routine. If the nurse isn't patient and kind enough with me I'll still freak out. I'm always apologetic about it, though, which I highly doubt Amber has the self awareness to be... And I do my best to be kind when I'm not so scared my brain's going full animalistic fight or flight. So while I'm not defending Amber as an individual, situations aren't always as simple as it may seem. Basically I'm defending being afraid of needles I guess lol Edit to add: For me it's not about the pain. I deal with chronic pain with severe flare-ups. Doesn't seem NEARLY as bad as your situation, but it does mean I can't have a job or even a social life because I can't leave the house except for appointments. I just got my wisdom teeth out a week ago with no pain medication because it didn't even hurt in comparison. I'm going to need at least one more surgery (removing an organ that's only not killing me because of the formerly-injections medication) for sure in my life, probably two more than that as well, and who knows what else could crop up, and odds are I won't be taking pain medication for any of them because, well, I can't. I'm not even particularly afraid of the pain from it because I go through so much on a daily basis... But a little needle still causes panic attacks

But once I hit my teens I realized nothing will change if I don't make it change and lost half of my total bodyweight over a couple years(120lb), but she has yet to realize this even in her thirties, it's really sad honestly. No matter how many times people straight up tell her that it just does not register, even if she fakes that it does, she wouldn't have gotten to over 500lb if it had registered. It's hard to even have pity for her because she's such a horrible person to begin with, and she's done this all to herself. 48:56 from this point, in a parallel universe, ALR realised she had a lifelong passion for watching cool shit happen to the human body and enrolled in a course that would let her work in the medical field. She developed a deep passion for the job and eventually decided it was time to study medicine. Her channel is now a med student vlog focusing on productivity, study hacks, and cool medical cases. She's still a little overweight but her nutrition is on point and for the most part she is now keeping her weight reasonably in check so she can be a good example to her patients; she often scares them straight with her "before" photos.

it's definitely not normal for a cat to shit blood. my oldest cat only got pink pee once when he had a urinary tract infection, and he made sure we saw it and knew he wasn't feeling well so we could treat it for him (he literally started peeing the whole house and then meowing so we would go see the pee)

That one’s not on her though. Not at 11, not even if she had already started lying. That’s a failure by all the adults in her life. She was in care; people knew she was a neglected vulnerable child from a bad situation and they should have given her the care and nutrition and the healthy, firm boundaries she hadn’t had at home. You can’t secretly be that big. That should have been triaged into a serious intervention. Instead they… what? Sent her to WW at 11 and set aside low-fat milk for her in the house fridge. Now when she’s 450lbs and lying to her foster parents about lunch money and stealing other kid’s lunches at 14/15 she starts to need to take some responsibility. First, because at that age doing that she’s growing into the kind of person who takes advantage of people and that needed to get nipped in the bud while adults can still give her low and moderate stakes consequences. Her long term health secondly.

I'm a recovering addict, and when I was 17 I ended up having seizures and being put into a coma for 2 weeks when I tried to quit using, and my mom took a picture of me in acoma to show me when the time came that I forgot how horrible drugs really were for me, and it honestly helped me stay clean for years. Outside of that scenario, I feel like filming someone who's in the hospital is just totally out of line. I'm disabled from chronic conditions, and am hospitalized a few times a year, and have surgeries all the time, and if anyone tried filming me during that, idk if I would even talk to them again tbh.

I stepped on an inch-long thorn the other day that snapped while still inside my foot and so I had to nip to the ER to get it out and get a tetanus booster. It took about six hours total as the medical staff are currently being smashed with a gastro outbreak AND a Covid spike, and the entire time I felt incredibly guilty for showing up at all for a simple thorn that I just couldn't get out on my own, when there were clearly more serious things going on. I took my shot, gave thanks for my world-class medical infrastructure (which is free in my country), and took myself home to shut up and rest. It absolutely boggles my mind how Amber functions, and feels so entitled at all hours to everyone's time and attention while she kicks up a fucking theatre of hysteria - "no I don't want the needle waaaah, I'll keep you here for like ten minutes while I demonstrate what a fucking baby I am waaaahhh". Especially in her country, where you have to pay! She really never got past the age of twelve, did she? Her neurology got to sixth grade and thought "yeah this is our stop, let's stay here forever".
