MT. TIMPANOGOS PRACTICE HIKE FOR THE HIGHLINE TRAIL IN UTAH

Жыл бұрынOn this episode, I travel to Utah to hike with Packs-A-lot and JBenHikes on the Highline Trail (High UINTAS Mountains). But, we wanted to do a day hike on the first day to Mount TIMPANOGOS before heading over to the UINTAS. This hike helped us get acclimated to the altitude of the Utah mountains. What a glorious hike! Join along as we tackle Mt. Timp. The hike to Mt. Timp takes us up to several basins where the wildlife are all over the ridges, including goats, moose, mule deer, marmots, and trail runners. We even saw a trail runner run up and down Timp twice during our hike. The hike is approximately 15 miles round trip. Eventually, we make it to the iconic "shack" at the top of the mountain. We had perfect weather on this hike up to the peak at 11,752 ft. Come along this day hike adventure as we acclimate to the High Uintas Wilderness. How many times will I say "sketchy" on this hike? Also, I will sing "We are the Champions" at the top. #backpacking #utah

This is my favorite “ yearly tradition” hike. It’s especially wonderful when wildflowers are at their prime and the goats are out. Been hiking Timp every year since 2005. so glad you got up there

Those ledges are too “sketchy” for me to hike. BUT the goat didn’t appear to have any problems with “sketchy”! A beautiful part of our America. I wish more people realize what a great and beautiful country we live in.

The earliest vacation I remember was to Yellowstone. We had just started our return trip (we were driving) when all of a sudden, my father pulled the car over, yelled, "Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back", grabbed his camera, and took off running. He came back what felt like 4 hours later, though he claims it was only 30 to 45 min. He saw a moose and wanted a great picture. So he stalked it. He said he got within 8 feet. One of his pictures was of just moose nostril. Just one. Fun trip. It trained the whole time. We tent camped the whole trip.

I lived in Provo for 3 years and spent a lot of time goofing off up Sundance and American Fork Canyon and NEVER saw a dang moose. Lol. Lots of goats and deer though. That is such beautiful country. I have a great friend in Salt Lake City, so i need to check out Mt. Timpanogos. Elevation is a definite game changer. If you haven't hiked in that elevation, you don't know what to expect.

Yeah, that elevation is a game changer. I took that Diamox. It really helped. I never really had any issues. That place is a hiker’s playground. ✌️

I think you missed one right after #3.So add one to whatever your final count was. Now I can't remember if it was 9 or 10. Thats hilarious you mentioned riding the moose! I hadn't seen that when I sent you that email about Backpacker Bob! RMmister was agreeing with the sketchyness though. He was thinking he wouldn't want to do that. think what would make the fall not fun would be the speed you pick up. At fist you'd be going slow enough to where it wouldn't hurt too much! Beautiful views, beautiful wildlife, beautiful wildflowers, beautiful rendition of We Are The Champions!! 🙂

I'd pay $$ to see you ride a moose! lol. It was a beautiful one though. You were definitely amped climbing up. I had faith in you, if you could sit through my life story at a campfire, you could climb Mt Timp! You should change your trail name to Sketch! I camped in the basin at 16:05, it was an incredible experience.. if you do Timp again, spend a night up there. Great video Crow! Looking forward to the UHT episodes.

Feels like you have alot more beautiful open spaces than we do in Europe.... more restrictions in England but wild camping possible in Scotland..... I'm hoping to do winter camping in Scotland or the French Alps......why dont you come over and join me!

I can’t remember the day of the week. But, it was in late July. It was crowded at the top. I remember get there at 4:30am just to get a parking place at the trailhead. Amazing trail!
