I bought Pillars of the Earth on your recommendation and loved it. ( The books it's based on are excellent BTW.) This seems maybe a bit similar to Pillars. I borrowed this from my game club and will be playing it next week. Looks fun. Thanks for the review! Keep up the great work. It's appreciated 👍.

This was initially about a superhero team, but that theme was for another publisher that failed to publish it.

Funny you say that because I thought this would fit a marvel theme well as players are trying to collect infinity stones rather than citizens.

Some mechanism of the game seems akin to El Grande such as moving family members and the effect of cards. Since El grande is your top game for last so many years is that the reason you like this game so such??😊 I like such genre of games (similar to King is Dead having Chess like feeling) and i am sure i will also like this… will go through some more videos and will surely add this in my collection. One more gem by Dr Knizia. He is really a Genius.

I have not played Municipium but I also like such older, dry, beige, area control games - a couple of others I have enjoyed and recommend, but may have possibly passed under the radar, are Ilium (also by Knizia) and Patrician (Schacht). While I don't desire much from game aesthetics/don't mind the bland game board and components of Municipium, I wish that game box image was different/not so drab! (off topic, Victoria Fritz, anyone? :)
