When not filming videos, he's working out in the living room, surfing, learning dance or gymnastics moves, or riding a bike with his son in tow.

Morning stiffness for 30 minutes to 2 hours every day is an early sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Pay attention if you develop fatigue, hand or foot pain and other symptoms if they last more than a couple months. Hopefully not, but awareness is important just in case.

Thanks. I really appreciate how here in this video, and other videos you do, you emphasize the need for variety in the exercises. Your advice to strengthen at all lengths and angles, to progressively and slowly add more resistance, and to switch it up to challenge your body's adaptation. Good stuff.

Your videos are always helpful. Over a few years now my right knee has been noticeably bent... torn meniscus. There was pain with walking and squatting. Have had steroid shots, and physical therapy. Is no longer painful when walking, only if I squatt too low. BUT the knee still does not straigthen. Do you have suggestions.

Hello from Australia. I am wondering if you have much experience with hyper mobility & training. So much of what you just covered makes sense for me but I am struggling to get information around training with hyper mobility. Sometimes I think I am doing too much but then all signs point to needing to strengthen more. Any assistance or advise would be greatly appreciated.

The area I feel tightest when I wake up is in my low back, down into my hips. Ive found stretching and activating my hip flexors, and in particular my glute med helps with this. it's been interesting learning how muscles I wasn't thinking about before were contributing to my low back pain. I also have very inflexible hamstrings that I'm wondering now if they contribute to this pain as well. I've been stretching and strengthening them lately so I'll see if that helps.

Hamstrings are VERY commonly a contributing factor to back pain (and obviously hip pain too). 💪

@@Uprighthealth thanks for that input. I’m gonna focus more attention on my hamstrings since they’re the weakest (and tightest) link and I hope it helps.

So I have been looking for your email but so far I haven’t found one. So I guess I’ll talk to you here. I’m 68 years old I have been dealing with muscle problems my whole life. All my doctors say I have a underlying muscle disease but don’t know what to call it. All my muscles and tendons are super tight. When I use my muscles, they fatigue quickly and do not recover very fast. I have torn my right shoulder 3 times , had surgery twice. My left is also torn but I’m done with surgery’s because they just tear again. Both hip labrums are torn. Have partially torn both Achilles’ tendons. When I walk I have to start off slow and build up to 3-4 miles . But if I take 2 days off it’s like starting all over again. When bending over I can only get 6” below my knees. My arms are so tight they won’t go behind my back. I have severe Diastasis Recti . Every PT I have ever tried say “ you have the tightest muscles I have ever seen. I used to be very active but always in pain. I have a script for PT to strengthen hip and core . Which is how I found you. I have been doing your follow along hip video. I have 2 hurting back muscles that haven’t healed in 5 months. Even if I rest them. So any suggestions for me ? Any of your videos you recommend? Thank you Gary. Garycustomx@aim.com

A helpful video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gdlkddVmu9Lbc6c.html I have found that when rest and "taking it easy" does not solve your pain and stiffness, the answer is not to continue to doing that same thing. It is to encourage the body to face the limits and grow beyond its current state.

What can you do for DOMS? I’ve had it all my life and even if I push through the pain there is still weakness which seems to prevent me from ever getting stronger as it lasts about 5 days!
@csn2887
@csn2887 2 жыл бұрын
DOMS shouldnt really last more than two days typically. If they last longer than that youre causing more damage than your body cant adapt to efficiently. Typically this means you're doing too much too soon. Even if it feels like it's not challenging you as much I'd reduce difficulty significantly and incrementally increase it over a few weeks. Give your body a chance to adapt. Also potentially start with a rest week and take a look at your diet and hydration etc. Good luck

Gosh, I have the same problem, and I definitely am NOT exercising too much because I actually can't; my muscles become completely fatigued within a couple of reps. Not only do my muscles feel supper tight in the morning, they also ache as if I did heavy squats for hours. Any ideas what could be causing this?
@matttcameron_
@matttcameron_ 2 жыл бұрын
that sounds like the not enough exercise option he mentioned. I'd probably say you should work on strengthening your muscles with the easiest regression of exercises so you can find one that you are able to do (if you can't do a pushup try: pushups against a wall > knee pushups > regular pushups) and build from there. I think you can find a variation of certain exercises that you CAN do even if you have to step it back quite a bit to start
