Yep, Jean never really exhibited her combat prowess in TAS so it's exciting to see it demonstrated here briefly. But given how easily Prime Trask was able to one shot Rogue, Morph, Wolverine, and Beast, she should have relied more on her defensive powers.

This was how she was always meant to be as a character. The OG series showrunners just thought she'd make a better damsel in distress. Magneto and Storm only became omega level 5 years ago. Jean had long been omega a good decade and a half before everyone else became omega.

From what I gather,Morph's abilities not only change his appearance, but his cells alter into the physical strength, speed, agility, and combat awareness of the person he morphs too. He can't do anything internally, like energy blasts, telekinesis, or absorption. However, he analyzes the external characteristics, then his body mimics exactly to detail. Even when the character has wings, he compensates it into his body to fly. According to wiki, he's basically Play-Doh with extra steps.

Up to that point the show did a good job having Morph only copy powers based on physical attributes, but if Morph can copy super speed how will the show runners define “powers based on physical attributes?” That could get completely out of control if they aren’t careful. Can Morph heal like Wolverine? Drain people’s life force with a touch? Fire optic blasts? Hell, can Morph imitate Mystique’s power and bypass the limits on his native shapeshifting? I honestly wouldn’t have stretched the boundaries of Morph’s power past shapeshifting into Colossus’s steel form, but part of Morph’s gimmick is that he never uses the same form twice. Morph’s use of super speed is also more novel than him using swords, claws, or super strength again, and the writers clearly care about ensuring Morph doesn’t repeat himself.

Quicksilver is fast due to some sort of muscular mutation in his legs or nerves/reflexes, so it's possible for Morph to do that... although I agree, this version of Morph is getting closer to Mimic...

Technically, they didn't. When Morph rushes in as Quicksilver, Cyclops was blasting away from range (although you can see two shots bounced off of Prime Trask). Then Beast jumps in to assist Wolverine during his melee and actually scored a hit before Trask knocked out both. At that point it was just Jean and Cyclops left.

No, Storm wouldn't have been able to do that at all. It's a Prime Sentinel. It's nothing like the Not-Mastermold that she had attacked in a previous episode. None of Storm's fake omega shenanigans would have done anything.

Beast's combat ability is limited as a ground-based melee fighter, but he was excellent in a support role in TAS. And he did plenty in Obsession fighting Apocalypse and the Phalanx Saga.

It's not a part of her powerset. Compare that to the likes of Magneto and Storm who had always been just alpha level. They only became omega in 2019.

There is an evolution of Morph and Jean in this episode, Morph had some modifications by SInister, that explained his other level of power, and in the case of Jean, that was the gift of The Phoenix, don't forget on animated series, she is alive by the combination of fragments of souls of the other members, Phoenix granted her with a power level up, which is a good way to award her soldier like sacrifice.

Like this happens in Mexico, there must be several Stark Towers spread around the world, and besides, we don't know if Iron Man is fighting some Mandarin-type villain.

Superhero comic books don't work like shonen anime and manga, the superheroes are stuck at predetermined levels of power. Sometimes they do get power boosts, but they are just temporary; eventually, one way or another, they always go back to the levels they usually operate at.

Advanced Sentinel models always posed a problem, especially since they can usually adapt against mutant powers. But Prime Trask was easily defeated by an EMP pulse here. Although Magneto is out of commission, Storm can easily generate that. So she can turn the tide when she returns.
