1. eat two brazil nuts 2. sleep in a cold room 3. fitness classes 4. focus on getting enough good foods/nutrients, not cutting/removing bad foods 5. ten minutes of stretching/mobility prior to workouts 6. electrolytes 7. drink more water when you eat more fiber 8. weight train for movements, not muscle groups 9. having fitness phases 10. making proper meals and eating them

I tried 75 hard but kept failing because I couldn’t do the second workout and finish the water you made me realize that I’m adding to much at once I went from not going to gym and not drinking water to expecting myself to go twice a day and drink a gallon of water since I started I haven’t missed the first workout and have got a half gallon of water in you made me realize I need to just celebrate that as a win
@KeltieOConnor
@KeltieOConnor Жыл бұрын
One reason I’m not a big fan of 75 hard!! Why not 75 days of each of those things. 75 days to just focus on water, then 75 days of going to the gym (with 1-4 rest days a week of course). Only habits that have ever stuck for me is when I start 1 at a time. So happy you realized this ☺️

The fitnesses phases thing is so great to hear because I always felt like I'd failed if I didn't commit to something long term, year round. I love the idea of normalising 'as long as you're moving, it's a vibe'...a much lower pressure way of thinking. Thank you 💖

I love how genuinely authentic and thoughtful these habits were instead - truly developed over time through your personal experiences instead of just copying the trendy "top 10" habits that everyone says already (like drink water, just sleep more, etc.) it was helpful to learn how things CAME to work for you :)

Mine is unplugging for at least 30 minutes before bed! I take that time to try to either learn a new skill like knitting or sewing, or even a headstand. Or use it to work creatively on something! Like a DIY project. It helps me sleep better and also allows me to go to bed feeling that much more accomplished

Thank you for these practical tips. For the majority of people who don't get enough exercise to eat the "normal" modern diet common to the European diaspora, here are some of the habits I'm building that make me feel better and have taken fat off me: Eating a "pudding" of 2 tbsp coconut milk, 2 tbsp ground chia seeds, 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds, water, a bunch of cinnamon, and other spices for flavor with an apple and/or berries. Hopefully at the start of my day, so I get most of my fiber in early. At least 1 apple a day, which is about 5g of fiber. Any whole fruit with a decent amount of fiber would be as good, I just love apples. Try to eat a whole serving of veggies at every meal. If not, then a high fiber fruit and/or veggie drink. Eat beans or legumes and nuts at least once a day. I'll definitely add two Brazil nuts to that habit. Eat my meals fiber and/or veggies first. I'm not yet as consistent on these as I want to be, but I'm benefiting enough to motivate improving. The way it helps with my chronic knee and ankle pain is motivation enough on its own, but I've also lost inches on my waist and gained energy.

Love it! Seems like that really clicks with her way of thinking tip: focus on adding nutrients (including fiber in that) instead of good/bad foods

This sounds amazinggggg! Just a quick warning though, I've heard it's not safe to be consuming more than 1tbsp of chia seeds per day. Obvi do your own research and take a strangers word with a grain of salt! Def going to be looking into including some of this in my diet though 👀
@kobaltkween
@kobaltkween Жыл бұрын
@@theorywynn1286 Why wouldn't it be safe? They're basically just fiber and folic acid. The serving size on the package is much more than that, and medical info my husband and I has recommended more than that. But if you've come across a particular warning, I'd be interested.
@theorywynn1286
@theorywynn1286 Жыл бұрын
@@kobaltkween so from what I've seen; "Because of their high fiber content, eating too many chia seeds may cause constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and gas. Chia seeds may also cause flare-ups with inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn's disease" As well as messing with blood sugars of someone diabetic and things like that. I've always personally been told not to have more than one tablespoon worth, though maybe they just meant for me? From more research, two tablespoons a day should be fine but no more than that :)
@kobaltkween
@kobaltkween Жыл бұрын
@@theorywynn1286 My husband takes 3 tbsp at once with great benefits and no problems. The daily recommended amount of fiber is about 25g for women, and about 38g for men. That's for normal, healthy people, not people who have insulin resistance and other health problems caused by modern low fiber diets. Even 3 tbsp of chia aren't half of what that healthy woman should have in a day. As someone with chronic inflammation problems that seem to be autoimmune related, I'd say that their fiber helps much, much more than the seeds make a problem. Autoimmune problems make sugar and insulin spikes painful in my experience. My hands, for instance, weren't happy about my low fiber, higher carb Thanksgiving at my dad's. Also, we grind our chia seeds because they've been proven to have weight loss properties that way, in addition to the effects of fiber. So if you're worried about digesting seeds, that's a simple solution. Also, a few tbsp of chia probably won't be worse than cups of rice or quinoa. Most people get much, much less fiber than they should. Like half or less. Even a big salad only has like 2 or 3g. The only doctor based warnings about fiber I've seen have been about going way over those daily amounts, increasing your fiber too abruptly, and not drinking enough water. Personally, I find just getting my fiber RDA takes deliberate work. That pudding with an apple takes me just about to half. Considering I usually eat about 2 meals a day besides snacks, and most veggies clock in at about 2 or 3g for a large serving, I try to take all the help I can get.

Switching your fitness style actually makes so much sense! I mean theres four seasons and I've noticed that my performance is kinda always changing according to how cold it is, if the sun is shining, if it's snowing etc.. I've seen many people going into 'resting mode' in the winter because that's when we feel the most tired and exhausted. Definitely gonna try this out!

Thank you for s great video Keltie! Really good tips there. A few things I'm doing are 1 - start every morning with a large glass of warm water at least 30 minutes before food 2 - take magnesium half and hour to an hour before sleep really-really helps with muscle cramps and is oh so important for anyone who is physically active 3 - split my large nutrient dense lunch into 2 parts to ensure I can digest it all well and not feel overly full 4 - veg with every meal. ca 400 grams per day today 5 - no processed food. now, I realise this may be considered a luxury but I genuinely don't eat anything from a can or a package and cook everything from scrath 6 - I'm trying to (badly) do a quick neck and trap massage every night, we carry a lot of pressure in that area. 7 - being mindful of my posture

I found this video “Foundation Training original 12 minutes w/ Dr. Eric Goodman” and did it every day and I swear to god it worked wonders even after the first day. Significantly improved my life: actually drinking enough water EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! yes I still have days where I don't drink enough usually due to stress, but I notice it way sooner now! I have waaaay less headaches, my digestion is so much better (obviously in conjunction with nutritious food) and my mouth is no longer dry, I used to wake up during the night because of dry mouth! (also check that you don't use mouth wash with alcohol just before bedtime, dries out your mouth like crazy!) so yes, water! and not filtered water, actual water with minerals! I know that's not easy in the US which is why I didn't feel quite as great about it when I used to live there, but being back in Europe, I really notice the difference hard! oh and thanks for the reminder to eat my brazil nuts, I have them somewhere but tend to not 'snack' in my day-to-day life, so I forget about nuts lol.

Just thought of a huge thing that I've slipped up with a bit recently but want to get back into is *not changing in front of a mirror*. I don't know if other people do this, even without realising, you might just have a small room and the mirror is just there, but try and turn away. Because I have been so self critical and it's just not fair on myself because our bodies change so much even in just a day and we do not need to be looking at it constantly. I would hate on myself because of the way I looked maybe in the evening after I'd had a big meal out...and that is clearly a very silly time to be assessing my body image, consciously or subconsciously. - Just use the mirror for when you need to e.g. putting together an outfit - Or if you are on some kind of weight loss/body building journey, take longer gaps between looking at your body, because you're honestly not going to see real change in a few hours or a day...give it a bit longer ☺

Thank you so much for these helpful tips! I just got wondering when you mentioned the different phases … have you thought about the impact that our cycle as women have on our energy levels and needs? I would love a video from you about cycle synching if that is something you’re also interested in 💕

you would hate living in australia! My bedroom is always so hot. I was so thankful when I moved to place with decent airconditioning. Made a huge difference to my sleep but still no one here is encouraged to put their aircon below 23 degrees. It sucks if you are cool sleeper like me! (my air con only goes to 20 degrees anyway >.

Be careful, it's easy to overdose on selenium. You won't die but might experience bad breath, hair loss or brittle nails. One a day is way more than enough! Please do your own research ❤️
