I've been a few years since picking up my very first Behringer synthesizer. They have grown to a total of Behringer synths in my current setup and I'm considering other Behringer units in the future.
This video goes into my Behringer synthesizer journey while sharing clips of videos made over the last 2 years which various synthesizers from this setup. I'm really enjoying what Behringer is bringing to my studio and hope you enjoy the video.

The neutron has great utility as a controller for another synth. If you do not use the patchbay in your sounds you have a free s&h, slew and a sort of mixer with sum1 and sum2 available. Those things would cost as much as a neutron unit if you would purchase them as separate modules.

Great content, thank you! I’ve spent so much money on expensive synths and eurorack stuff, ran into heavy financial problems and had to sell most of my gear. Now I can go back to the synth world thanks to these wonderfully affordable and amazing synths! I think what Behringer is doing is something really democratic in some ways.

i think i mentioned recently on another video, i've been developing synths for a good long wile, because i believe it contributes to a potentiated, capable populace. i think i was somewhat disparaging the featureset on the other item, but here as an overview, it is immensely satisfying to me to see behringer making all of this available. all of these analog synths have a lower pricetag than one virtual analog ran in the mid 90s. thanks for sharing your story, i'm real happy to hear that it's been a pleasant one for you.

Good to hear some music from you, my journey restarted with the DM12 and now i have crave, Model D, Neutron , RD8. Crave feeds into the Model D via ext input and doubles up in the 24Db filter nicely. Added a Matrixbrute to my setup and looking for a great poly digital that can give some horizon wide layer beside the SY85 rompler. Not a pro here but very much enjoy a retake of my 80s youth memories in Behringer stuff, back then it was juno106, DX7, Korg Wavestation, ensoniq, TR606 , TB303,AtariST... all sold when got kids instead ; ) I have no regrets because today's synths are so creative and affordable.

@@2000stephenellis I mean yeah but a lot of these synths were far more affordable new and many of them came out around 30+ years ago. I mean a TB-303 was £238 (about a £800) when released now its £3000+ second hand. Both of the inflationary cost and the second hand market cost is insane for what it is in todays context. Behringers price is perfect.

But my car died while the Cat was still shipping, so I had to turn around and sell it immediately. Been wanting to replace it ever since, and I just did with Behringer's version. Neutron does some fun stuff when you start patching the LFO and S&H through the sum and multi outs to mess with everything. trigger it out of the drum machine and you get rhythmic dirty randomness. I'm still learning but I'm having a good time with it.

The Neutron is fantastic and is worth spending a few hours patching around because it can do a lot, especially with the updated firmware. You really can’t beat the price if you are in a budget and want to play with real analog hardware.

now for me my first hardware synth was the td3 in yellow with acid smiley.. i loved how it souded but my only gripe is how gross and cheap its plastic feels especially for the knobs i bought it cause i wanted an acid box. now i still love the sounds it makes but the knobs and buttons make me not want to touch it. my second was the Neutron and this thing is my baby! i admit i havent patched nearly as much as i should have.. but i bloody love it! its construction.. the materials its made of it feel real and not like a todler toy like the td3. the sounds it makes blow my mind sometimes. my only issue with the Neutron was that i couldnt get it to sound with midi from my YPT-210 keyboard.. so i though i need something that can sound itself.. in came the crave! i love that i can program a jam into it and i love its feel and sound, one of the most amazing parts for me though is that i can put it in my laptop bag and take it out with me! i tried a pocket operator next and ill be honest i hate it.. i then recently bought a korg volca percusion for drums.. but it feels too fiddly.. i just bought a Behringer K-2 im awaiting the delivery on that and seriously cant wait to throw it in my 3 tier rack with my Neutron! ill either get the Pro-1 OR build the last slot in the rack out as a complete modular zone next. i actually love behringer gear so much.

I have a Model D, Neutron and a Pro 1 aswell. While they are fun to play with I don't really have practical uses for them writing music with them because they can't store patches... yes the parameters can be written down but I go thru so many it just makes it obsolete in the end for my particular application. Currently they are sitting back in their boxes while I am running more of the Novation Mini Nova, Roland System8 and jp8000 and a Korg Ms20, I also have a Behringer Deepmind 12 in the mix. They seem to suit my needs at the moment, although I do like using the pro1 sometimes for buzzy basses. I run a master midi clock signal that originates from a Yamaha Rm1X. The Behringer desktops seem to have a hiccup when I add a sequenced delay sometimes. It's not all the time, but it's not dependable in that sense either, while the others do not. I may add that the deepmind 12 is a lot more on point for that circumstance aswell, as opposed to the desktop mono synths. I do most of the triggering with an Arturia Keystep, which I absolutely think is a great controller! I must admit though overall and for simpler applications I am impressed! They are definitely great and lush sounding and can be almost impossible to tell from the originals, I know I can't! GREAT VIDEO!!!!!

Hey Todd, great vid. I'm just starting to build my synths (for fun) and I've a Crave, a K2 a Roland TB3 and a few others. I was wondering how you've set yours up with the Focusrite and a mixer. its really interesting learning how other peeps set their systems up. Cheers

So far I just have a Neutorn but I'm thinking about the Crave next. Suffice to say I guess when you record with those best get the track/loop right because you can't save the patch. That's what I have to get used to.

Very cool video bro! Hey I myself have a few modules in M wondering what drum machine I should get to make some jams any suggestions on what to buy? I was considering The Berenger RD8 which I am sure I probably get but I like that 1st jam on this video of yours what drum machine were you using?

@fellpower

Yeah, mostly the same here. I KNOW all that old synth very sure - but never can buy them - every year, they get more expensive. and with the Behringer Synths - i CAN make the music, ive ever wanted to do. So ill buy it - and try it. And as many Owners of the original hardware said: it sounds nearly the same - thats all i need.

Honestly, I’d have never had got started on my musical journey Gadget and how easy it is to use. It’s a shame Korg keep increasing prices for the add on synths, that was the end of gadget for me. I’m sure I could have done much more with it. Thanks for the inspiration to try this out 👍.
