Our stories are very similar and I feel very lucky to have supportive family and friends. It took my father 10 years to completely accept who I was. But today we are very close. When women flirt or when young men ask or anyone asks me out I always say,” My husband is gay and expects me to spend time with him at home.” Usually that solves the issue..but it took me years though I knew at age 7...Now I am 67+. Your story has touched me and I wanted to share some of my story with you. I’m older and spent many many years of my life closeted and married (eventually with children) afraid of being beaten up or rejected and very unhappy. There were times I wanted to end it. There was no one and nothing to turn to for help. it wasn’t until she walked out on us in my late 30’s that I thought I could tell everyone my true feelings. My family and my children were fantastic and so supportive of me. Don’t misunderstand me, it wasn’t easy and I lived with the fear for months that I would be rejected. The worst bit was having people from church quoting pieces from the bible at me or praying for me or telling me I would go to hell. Anyway. I got over that episode. I moved away from where I lived and grew in confidence. I wasn’t looking, I thought I would be on my own forever, but 13 years ago I met my soul mate and we have not been apart since. 10 years ago we had our civil partnership ceremony - it was very special.

Merci beaucoup d'avoir partagé ton histoire. J'ai fait mon "coming-out" à 28 ans (J'ai 32ans). Je viens d'une famille très conservative sur cette question, donc pendant un an ça été très dur et le dialogue a été impossible avec l'un de mes deux parents. Maintenant c'est mieux, on se revoit mais on ne parle pas de ma vie sentimentale, c'est dommage mais ça m'empêche pas d'avancer car je sais ce que je veux (Je suis en couple depuis 9 ans). Sur ton point de qui prévenir en premier, mes parents ont été les derniers au courant. Je suis d'accord avec toi, il faut le faire quand on sent que c'est le moment. Et du coup je m'abonne à ta chaîne et aussi à instagram :D

When I came out as gay to my family, my sister got depressed and cried for the whole week! Even though she told me it was ok to be gay , she wasn't able to overcome it.

Good for you and I'm also happy for you. But let's not forget that there are a lot of coming out stories that didn't end well. They aren't told for so many reasons. I suggest everybody be very careful if and when to come out and to whom. If you aren't certain you'll be able to live your life "out" without reservations, just don't do it. Better be safe than sorry.

You have wonderful parents that's a good start right there I don't know what time you came out how old you are? I didn't come out to my parents until I was 22 but the rest of my brothers and sisters all new for years haha and all of my friends and I didn't even get the chance to come out because I got asked now if that doesn't beat all! Could not lie that was definite, and you're such a nice and polite man who could not fall in love with you I am in love with you just listening to you talk! Have a beautiful life I live in Philadelphia area way from the city, I don't like living near the city I'm borderline country and suburbia, there are clubs out here and the counties that surround Philadelphia but going down to the city to a club forget about it too much of a hassle and is always parking your car thing and right now nobody can drink at the bar anyway because of quarantine time! Bars made open back up January 15th I hope so. And I hope the gyms open back up again at the end of the month it just depends on what spreading God damn virus
