Ya. I don't think they work well for fully cycling. I've used 3 or 4 brands and the main thing I would say it does is start the seed. The other thing that has helped me is by pouring it directly into the filtration system( if possible). I started cycling a new 40 gal fry tank a week ago. I put in dr tims 2 days ago and now have nitrite conversion. Now even in some of my other videos a talk about my theory on nitrifying bacteria. It's aerobic and needs oxygen to survive. I feel that if it sits on a shelf for too long it will die. I'd right them and see if they can send you a fresh bottle to try. Thanks for watching and if you happen to get more, let me know.

I don't know what swapsies means. lol. I know that they are trying to send products that kind of touch on different aspects of the hobby. If it were one way or the other, someone would get a box full of nothing they would use. I feel ya when it comes to the purigen. It would still work for me because I dose with root tabs. I would image api leaf zone or medication would be I sorted very quickly. My water changes are crazy often so nitrates don't stand a chance in my tanks.

I use frozen brine, blood worms, sinking pellets, baby brine shrimp, and last but not least.... Flake food. Some flakes are made with very natural products but I feel like I see more bloating with flake than real food.. My favorite is live brine shrimp. Young and old.

Know that with my aquarium box, expect to get a couple of little things you might not use but you get to see other products that you have never known about. Things for the tank, bio media, flake foods. You keep goldfish in a tank or a pond?
