*I've started two journals, one that I fill with random thoughts that I get when my depression and anxiety take over. The second I started for my little brother who's 10. I've raised him since the day he was born when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. He's my world and I don't want kids because to me he's my one and only baby, so I've been filling that book with fun moments with him, how I felt when he was born, ect. I plan on giving it to him when he's 18 or 21. That way I have more moments to put in♥️*

I know it has been 2 years since you left this comment but I was touched by it: I have diagnosed moderate depression episode and ADHD, I also deal with anxiety often and to hear how you still manage to keep your little brother in a life surrounded by love despite it all it really hit home, my big sister has been a second mother ever since I got diagnosed, closer than ever to my needs and I am so grateful, I am sure that your brother is grateful as well. Thank you for sharing!

My reason why to journal 1) want to be organised 2) want to have a pretty notebook to carry around 3) heard somewhere genuise + successful people carry it around with them 😚 4) But most importantly so that I can store my memories and look at them fondly when I am older.

I've been journaling since I was 13 (I'm 23) but recently I've developed such an anxiety about it. I think I've lost the 'why' beyond having a negative vent - it worked so much better when I was focused on my own growth. Thank you for these tips!
@NaesLaugh
@NaesLaugh 2 жыл бұрын
Aahhh Amber! I can completely relate… I started getting anxiety later on in my journaling experience as well. I think it was for a few reasons - one of them, oddly enough was because I would often go back and reread my journal entries, when I wrote them I would overthink and wouldn’t let it just come out freely. What helped was me stopping that for a while to bring back my love for just WRITING and being open with my thoughts. So maybe something you can try is to not only journal when you need to vent about something but also journal when something really good happens as well, OR even when it’s just a “regular” day. All of that - the good, bad and simply okay days are key to your personal growth and life journey so they are all worth documenting. And my thoughts are that once you get more familiar with journaling other than venting you’ll know how to get out of it quicker and discover the “why” you speak of when you do have something to vent about. 🥰♥️♥️♥️ I hope that helps Amber!!! But know I’m so rooting for you! Keep journaling friend!!! 😍😍😍🥰♥️

I've been going through old photos. When I come across one that has a back story, whether it's a fond memory, funny situation or even something tramatic , I paste a copy in my journal and write, write, write! The photos come to life in a new way and it's so therapeutic.

Thanksss Lola!! And yess!! Journaling absolutely does help with that! ♥️♥️♥️ just writing your thoughts out. And aside from that, something else I would recommend for you friend is gratitude journaling. It may seem counterintuitive when you are dealing with anxiety and loneliness but I can say from personal experience that when you find / grasp things you are grateful for and make you smile... even if it’s seemingly small ... and you meditate on it a little bit by writing it out, your mentality starts to change little by little ♥️♥️♥️ Maybe you can give that a try too ♥️ Praying for you friend!!

I've been journaling since I was 10 years old, and it's such a fantastic habit. I don't have my oldest journals, but the ones I still have, I like to check and read on. I tend to have very bad memory, so I often try not journal also to remember important things. Bits of gossip, experiences with people, and my thoughts about this and that. I even used to paste in magazine or news clips and then write what I thought about it. I like to re-read those old stories and what my opinion was and see how much I've changed about things.

Ok ... just let me start out by saying thank you! I'm 62 and have been Journaling for years randomly and I know that's fine but u young lady help bring such clarity to all of this! I've journaled on everything from slips of paper, spiral notebooks, paper bags, napkins etc from living in Korea, Germany, Hawaii, Texas, Indiana, Illinois and now Georgia (to name a few) and yes I do not know where half of the journals I've done are (but I'm doing better lol) and now with ur inspiration will be more focused and as a Christmas gift to my daughter who JUST told me she had no "outlet" will pass on ur video and a journal for her to start! I believe u will be able to inspire her to help take the load off. "Mama" might know best but sometimes it's easier to hear from a complete stranger. Thank you dear one. Love and blessings to you and yours! 😘🥰😍

It is absolutely my HONOR to be able to help bring clarity and help you refocus, and also for you to see fit for me to help your daughter as well!! ♥️ Man words cannot express enough how much that means!!! Merry Merry Merry Christmas Gayle!!! To both you and your daughter!!! 😍♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️ I truly appreciate you and look forward to seeing you and your daughter around here again soon!!! 🥲♥️🥰🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️

Loved your ideas, I'm brand new to journaling but crafts is my way to relax, I already know that scrapbooking will be an intrinsic art of my journaling. I get lost in planning out the page, decorating it and setting out the content. Bullet journalling and habit tracking will be a part of it too. It will also be my reading journal. Being creative is my meditating.

Great video, I love the clear prompts and the fact that you understand and empathize with your audience! Journaling is my #1 tool with my clients and myself - and it is truly a powerful self-inquiry and life transformation practice. Thank yous much for putting this together! It is so nice to see you share how important our environment is, and how to set ourselves up for JUST DOING IT:) to build the habit and self-reflection and imagination muscles most of us are not taught to develop and apply.

I often start journaling with a quote. I always find these fantastic quotes that I loved so much, but I didn’t know what to do with them. Before I started journalling I had no where to put these quotes. Now I go through my quote list and use the one (or ones) I find speak to me that day.

I soo agree with the growth thing. I have filled up 3 journals and this is the first whole year if my journalling. I love having relics of the past, for which a journal is perhaps the best thing ever ! Also, I feel that I have become more connected with the feelings I have harbored for so long, and perhaps even lost some of the negative ones.Journalling has made me calmer, taking it all one day at a time and knowing myself much deeper. Love your style tho!

I'm loving the energy in this video! I cannot even begin to tell how much journaling has changed my life :) I don't know if anyone else does this, but my method is that some years ago I gave it a name. It's like telling everything to another person, which not only makes me want to never stop, but it also makes the actual writing more organic and sincere. After so many years things to say come to mind naturally, and I'm able to see patterns, it's truly the practice I recommend the most^^

I currently have my standard journal for day to day things, my scripting journal for writing out what I want as if it’s already come to me, and then I use the artist of life workbook from lavendaire as sort of a brain - dump journal/ ideas etc. I’ll never stop :p

Each one is just a page a day of “brain dumps” where there are breaks in my thoughts. My prayer journal has thoughts, worries, ideas and prayers on whatever is going through my mind that I feel need to be on paper while I am talking to the Almighty.
