Thank you Emy for another review. I find it fascinating how fountain pens evolved differently in different areas of the world. Also interesting you mention that you have found the nib initially too dry for your liking - I have two Platinum pens and my impression is that none of them particularly likes the Montblanc inks. As soon as I have changed to Japanese ink (in my case Sailor or Iroshizuku) the ink flow was spontaneous and natural. Enjoy your growing Nakaya pen family! :)

I totally agree! In japan nibs are more likely to be stiff and due to the writing form they use a lot of line variation so nibs like concordes and those stacked nibs are popular. I will try to see how it handles with some Sailor inks and it should be a nice way of checking this :D Keep me posted with the scribo :D

hi Emy, the centre big five Chinese characters mean "special made fountain pen" and the side smaller chinese characters mean made by Nakaya Fountain Pen.....

Congratulations Emy on the purchase of this gorgeous Nakaya - Dorsal Fin V1 Midori Tamenuri. It is a gorgeous pen and the nibs of Nakaya are very beautiful and write amazingly well. I love the detailing and the customization Nakaya does. I got the Neo Standard Blue in Medium Soft nib which I got from Warren. It is one of the best I have. Japanese pens are very premium and beautiful. I feel these pen are deliberately designed without clips so that the user always uses the kimono to carry the pen and never carries in his shirt pocket (as it may scratch the pen). One question - You are fond of Broad wet nibs so why did you go for a Fine nib and not Broad or Medium? :) Enjoy your new possession.

thank you so much K for your feedback - your pen from warren was my initial trigger for a nakaya - i ended up with the big Piccolo - another great pen from warren :D i went with a F nib because i wanted to see how much different is from the Soft fine that i got on the Piccolo, they are two totally different nibs, for my next nakaya i went with a Elastic Soft Medium :D lets see how that one goes

@@pen.venture Yes I came to know about that from Warren. Its one of my best possession till date. The detailing Nakaya does, no other pen manufacturer does that. Haha … Enjoy your Nakayas… At times nib variations are very interesting.
