I love that she brought you into everything. Her knowledge, her experience. Everything she talked about... she made you a part of every detail she brought up, saying "you know this part", "you know this fact", "you know how this works"... that was so human, so humble and so inviting of her - into things she knows so much about. What an amazing thing you shared with us, Bailey. Thank you!

Nancy telling her fiance’s story with tears in her eyes is heart-wrenching. It should never have happened, but I hope she sees just how important that event was. it single-handedly changed the trajectory of her life path in a strange and beautiful way. She became part of the solution. What an inspiration!

I don't like Nancy Grace, I like you. I don't feel she does research, she says "her truth" without context. You are more clinical and honest, and researched, even when you express your opinion. I have no idea what Nancy Grace's story was about and it feels like a discombobulated rant. You put the idea that "this could be your neighbor" without making it the main focus, but she says words that make you feel threatened without saying any idea. The difference, you say your ideas and open it for discussion, she says shallow words as a form of persuasion. I'll like you, Haily, because you tell unbiased narratives. Even when you have an opion, you open discussion. Nacy Grace doesn't.

Of course Bailey Sarian would be the person to HUMANIZE Nancy Grace. This conversation opened my eyes up to the reasons Nancy is the way she is (which can often come off as over bearing) and really did change my opinion of her. Nancy Grace has such a strong personality that can be off putting sometimes, but it was really nice to get some backstory on her and why she’s the way she is. I loved her bringing awareness to another case as well as promoting her new project, but the real takeaway was her talking about her late fiancé and how she got into prosecuting, as well as her work ethic and how she is as a person. She was a lot more casual and open during this. Loved it!
@jeishiikanzaki

Idk. I don't care for Nancy Grace. They'd air her show in the lunch room at my work back in the mid 2000s and I remember being put off by how vicious and conspiracy theorist she came off. She's also "slightly" modified her story about her fiance a couple of times, his family refuting some of her story points. She comes across as someone who doesn't care about justice. She cares about vengeance, to the point of trying to pin crimes on someone, ANYONE. She needs someone to pay for whatever crimes, it doesn't matter if they were really guilty or not. If she was proven wrong, she never really apologized for smearing the people she insisted were at fault. She grossed me out.
@gretahunt4401
@gretahunt4401 3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t like her show either, for the same reasons - vicious and making assumptions about cases. But I really enjoyed her in this video. If she just stuck to the evidence and facts then I would really appreciate her opinions. Especially because of her experience as a prosecutor and such. This collab worked out well. However I’m not sure if the makeup side of it fits in with collabs. When you’ve got Nancy Grace telling you a heartbreaking story, does it trivialise the case having you doing your makeup at the same time?? That’s what I kept asking myself while watching this. The makeup works when she’s on her own but maybe not with a guest.
@tifKh
@tifKh 3 жыл бұрын
@Bailey Sarian I hope you see and consider the latter part of the above reply. Something about this collab put me off, as well. The makeup did in a way trivialize the topic. It’s hard to pinpoint, but it’s worth considering if there are any ways to improve the format, to seem more engaging.

Shes been around for a while now. People used to bash her because of how open she was about where police dalepartments had flaws, or say that she was paranoid because of all the crime. But if they actually watched the show, they would know that she would talk about all kinds of things related to crime. Shed talk about how keep yourself safe, discuss real life trials (past and current), and things to think about/look for to spot a perpetrator. I always thought it was very informative for women especially. ❤

Meghan B. Smith lol. It’s funny because my mother watched Nancy Grace excessively and I hated her with a burning passion. So my mother is cracking up because I look forward to Bailey’s videos every week and I was excited to see what guest she was having. I open it up today and it’s Nancy Grace. Of all the people it could have possibly been, it’s the one I hated watching. 😂 My mom was cracking up when I showed her. I’m a lot older now though and Nancy isn’t bothering me here. So maybe it was my age. I am 32 now.

I’m not a fan either. I’ve actually met Nancy in person at a convention we were both invited to. It’s obvious that she turns it ‘on’ for the camera and when it’s not rolling, she’s a mean and bitter lady that is beyond rude to her fans. I wasn’t a fan of hers before and after seeing the way she treats her fans when no one else is watching, I dislike her even more as a person. She didn’t deserve baileys time 🙄

Remember what Bailey said about how hosts of 90 talk shows didn't always get to say or do what they want? It's up to producers. I think producers loved the fire up Nancy Grace yelling at the screen and if she wanted her job she had no choice. Just my opinion but the interviews she's done since her show stopped have been much more amicable

@@gigirivers1447 You're probably right, it was probably a requirement of the producers. I'm a forensic geneticist :) The reason the DNA was not set in the database has to do with the ethics code of the use of DNA as forensic evidence. If the swab from the person does not match the evidence for the case that person was arrested for, you can't store that DNA in the database. You are also not allowed to compare that DNA with cold cases, unless you have evidence that the cases might be linked. Also: the data is not stored forever, they have to remove it every once in 10 years or so (the number of years is variable) - again, due to ethics, and due to statistics (the more data you have the more it can mess up the calculations - aka it is more likely to find someone with a similar DNA profile, even if that person is not the perp) On another note: familial DNA typing is forensic genealogy, it works not only with Y and mitochondrial DNAk, but you can also find related individuals based on the shared genetic information (alleles, and haplotypes)
@citlimpens4325
@citlimpens4325 3 жыл бұрын
There is quite a bit of misinformation regarding the science behind forensic cases. I wish Bailey had as a guest a forensic scientist, since commenters, prosecutors and defence lawyers tend to commit fallacies when explaining the sciece (hence the names: prosecutor fallacy/defence lawyer fallacy)
