This was the first time I had seen Iga play and from the very start the sound of her racquet on the ball impressed me - it was a real crack, suggesting that she is getting a bit more than the usual strike of other players. Seems like a fair number of unforced errors perhaps but she is going to win a lot of matches. And what an athlete! Stay healthy and top 5 awaits.

I just became an Iga fan after this match. She has it all. Great personality and smile too. And what a return game, which you don't see that often in younger players. She has a great 2nd serve and an excellent running forehand too. This girl is gonna be a great one.

@@sophie8977 O yes Sophie! Thank you thank you for your comment. I think I'm as happy for Iga as she is for herself, if that's possible. I've followed her thru the frustrating injuries last Fall and thru the up's and downs this year. She started looking better at the US Open and then i watched every match with delight at the French. I'm sooo glad she's now getting the attention she deserves and worked so hard for. I'll be watching her career unfold like a true champion. And she is one!!!

High quality match from two great players. Iga should'nt be too dissappointed with herself cause the shots she made were incredible and she'll deffo have a bright future. I'm also impressed with Naomi's performance today, she got outplayed in the first set and yet managed to win through her serving. Hopefully she's back to her winning ways.

Swiatek, Osaka, barty, andreescu, kenin. I think the generation change has been completed in wta. Looking forward to many years of tennis to come. (Halep is the only one over 23 y.o. to win a grand slam in 2019-20)

Poland has a future Slam champ in Iga. Just needs a little more strength so she can hit that forehand a tiny bit harder. The backhand is just a beauty though!

Great match. I wasnt aware how good Iga was until this match. The young kids are really coming through. No disgrace at all to lose to a champion like Naomi, far from it. In fact, sometimes you can play a higher level and lose, which is better for your development than playing rubbish and winning. Good play from both, and I hope they have many more awesome matches ahead.

Too early even to say if she will be top ten.lousy match from both.There wasn't a single ten shot rally in this match cause neither player could hit more than five shots before making an unforced error.

@@jeffreykaufmann4625 Both players are not into long rallies. They tend to hit heavy - make a lot of errors, but get a lot of winners. This style made Osaka no1 and it may do the same for Świątek.

Osaka is like a samurai in dress with a rocket instead of sword. And she plays alike. Silently like a ninja :) Iga Świątek is a Dynamite she is something big. And for me the 1:45 lob shot was the best of the game, with Iga's slight jump movement which I find magical, which gave perfect ball spin and shot trajectory.

I have not seen such a match in women's tennis for a long time, very few mistakes, aces, beautiful action as if women did not play. Big match and great applause for both girls!

Frankly, I didn't expect this match to be so tight and entertaining. Great show from both Iga and Naomi but was especially impressed with Iga performance. It's a pitty she couldn't capitalize on early break in 1s. Otherwise we could see another sensational win by Swiatek. Way to go girl!

Naomi is finally getting her self back! Her opponent was peaking but she stay put and puled the trigger on important point. Great tiebreak! That was clutch Naomi we were missing. She was smiling even if she lost a point. She saved set point with a fantastic ace and also finished the match with two massive forehands.. She put herself under too much pressure during last few months but finally she feels relaxed. Good..

Knew her name, but never seen her game (& missed the match). Another interesting player of 18 years old from Poland! I do like her ground stroke both wings with nice swing of racket head which creates momentum. Highlight may suggest Naomi found herself forced to deter a ferocious young challenger rather than Swiatek resisted power play by Naomi. 5 min shy to 2 hours. A nice fight, Naomi, in good form on hard court! Congrats! Her next game will be the most anticipated! Good luck!

Good to see Naomi finding her form. Trying to keep out distractions is hard but she is finding more peace. Swiatek is someone to watch. Osaka will take over world number one unless Pliskova reaches the final.
