A canal boat journey along the breath-taking Macclesfield canal and amazing night-time wildlife! I discover a hidden gem within woodland, a waterfall, a space to escape the mind, meditate, unwind. Step onboard for mindful relaxing moments.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

I am an American, I follow you, The Mindful Narrow Boat, a Slow Boat Through Britain and the Country House Gent. I am so envious of you all. Your travels and the places you show are so beautiful. I am 66yrs old and I am Dutch and Irish by ancestry. I would love to just spend some time on a narrow boat, exploring the canals. I have a mini van and I have about decided to try and explore some of my country before I am too old or dead. I want to thank all of you for taking me along on your travels. Great vlog Dave, wonderful editing 👍 Loved the drone footage with the cars going under/over the bridge at the same time as your boat went over/under it. Bollington looks really interesting with the old buildings and all the boats around and as always it was great to see your wildlife footage. They seemed to be aware of the camera, is that because they can hear it or does it have a small light on when it’s filming?

If I didn’t know better I’d think you were being tailed by a certain two winged ones. 😄 I really liked that one deer that was checking out the camera. The act of watching has an effect, even by camera. In this case the watcher became the watched & so on, just like the ripples in the water. Peace, Kevin Los Angeles
