Nate may not have had a good week because of the Manningcast, but my week was made SO great when my husband and I got to meet him on Sunday at a local coffee restaurant. He could not have been nicer--and I appreciate it so much! Only thing that would've been better would be for Laura, Brian, Dusty and Aaron to have been with him. And Harper! We're even bigger fans now. I didn't say it well that day--THANK YOU Nate, for the great entertainment you provide for our family and so many others. And I think I remember every funny story you've ever told. 1:07:50

I’ve heard other ppl say that they don’t expect the Mannings to research them before going on their show, I think it’s so silly to give them passes just because who they are. Part of their job is to interview ppl so they need to be prepared for their job, that’d be like if they went out on the field without ever looking at the playbook. After hearing Nate’s experience I don’t think Mark or any other of those ppl were bad guests, I think the Mannings are just bad hosts
@deangulberry1876
@deangulberry1876 7 ай бұрын
The Mannings clearly don’t have someone like Nate telling them what’s wrong with their show. I watch a lot and the delay is very annoying. They are constantly switching between interviews and the game so you don’t really get to enjoy either. It needs to just be the manning brothers and no guests. Just them 2 talking ball.
@jordanmadden7388
@jordanmadden7388 7 ай бұрын
I think it would fall more to the producers and directors of the show than the Mannings. The Mannings are guys who understand football at the highest level and trying to provide insight to viewers at home. 2 games were happening live. It’s just not a great time to be interviewing a comic or doing magic tricks. I think it’s just more of a problem with the atmosphere and direction of the show than any specific people.
@csgoat968
@csgoat968 7 ай бұрын
@@jordanmadden7388 That’s fair, I agree with the other guy who commented that said they should just keep the show between the Mannings and other players/their friends. I recognize what the Mannings bring to the table for their show but if you hear any of the great interviewers they say it is important to know your guests to bring the best out of them, have the best interview product or you run the risk of making your guest feel the way Nate did afterwards, although they should have a research team that would be for nothing if the Mannings didn’t take the time to familiarize themselves with Nate’s background

Regarding the Manning cast, I think I can say for all Natelanders when we're on your side. For anyone who saw it, we got to see in real life what it's like to have rough crowd who just doesn't get it, and struggling within a poor set up and atmosphere. You were obviously dealing with 2 very literal guys who's sole focus was juggling between the 2 games. It's also their error to pan away from a magician while he's still talking! I will give you the same advice you gave Aaron recently. As awful as I'm sure as it was to be in that moment, these kind of moments will help shape and grow you as a comedian if you let it. You'll look back on it some day and say "I learned this from that moment", and "Here's how I'm going to move forward." You adjusted, you persevered, you finished. We are proud of you. Who knows, maybe even one day you will write a joke about it. Hey bear!

You’re not wrong for being frustrated and venting to us folks Nate! I know it’s hard for you to say this bc you are legitimately humble-but they definitely should do some research on their guests if they don’t already have a relationship with them. It’s lazy and careless to not do at least a little research. It is on them, and that’s clear to us. You did what you could with what they gave you! Let it roll off… you’re killing it left and right. This will be a tiny thing to you after a little time goes by!

I can really appreciate and agree with Nate about our memory capacity. It's very true. Can anyone remember exactly what they had for lunch yesterday or the day before? So go on with the good humor, the great jokes and funny stories even if they're the same ones. That's what any big time musicians or bands do when they tour as well. Tunes and words being all you artists have is just fantastic. Actually a friend really loved your comedy, Nate, and by catching your name from him, I started to become happy to hear you, and see your Dad and his talent as well.

Everyone on your podcast is incredibly sincere. I've been watching Dusty Slay's podcast with Hannah and despite being short, they are also very streamlined. Never watched a Manningcast, but did watch a little after this. The thing that gets me, which Nate alluded to, is their pre-scripted comments that they don’t even try to hide that they’re reading word for word. Very unnatural. It would be much better just being conversational. I’m always looking for a lesson when things don’t go my way- Nate seems to do this as well. I think this was a great lesson for this point in Nate’s career. Many comedians talk about they want to get the reputation of always saying “yes”, so that they’re at the top of everyone’s list. With Nate having this sudden boost with SNL, I’m sure he felt like he needed to seize the opportunity. This was a great way to realize that you need to examine if it’s a good fit, even if it’s something you really want to do. I really think there was no harm done publicly (although it may have felt that way initially), so give yourself some grace! Your fans love you and your honesty 💕 Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

I didn’t see Manningcast. But I have always noticed and admired when people ask about Mr Stephen Bargatze as magician, Nate always says he’s funny, he “murders” etc because for some reason people like to put down magicians even though a good one has a lot of skill. Nate always talks up his father, which is endearing. I can see how that got under his skin. I actually didn’t think it was a bad rant (like college for instance). Nate also mentioned there were things he should have done. With such a successful SNL appearance we can see the difference in production making a difference. It sounds to me it was doomed pretty much straight away. Glad Peyton apologized. He should have.

Nate's rant was great. Two things - One, everything Nate ranted about was justified, but also those things are what make the Manning cast so good. It"s chaotic, unscripted, and always awkward because of the delay or Payton being distracted by the game. Nate, as a viewer, your interview was as good as any other on the show. Two - Nate said, "Peg in a . . ." and Aaron chimed in, "cog in a wheel." the phrases are "trying to fit a square peg in a round hole" and "cog in a machine." You all are truly doing the lord's work 😅

Growing up in Arkansas people would commonly refer to pecan pie as Karo nut pie. Never making a pecan pie myself, I had no idea what Karo syrup was or that it was a main ingredient in a pecan pie. When I was in college, when visiting a friend and his family back home, his mom asked us to go in the yard and fill a bucket with pecans for the tree in their yard to make a pie. I came in later with a bucket full of pecans and said “Gotta bunch of Karo nuts for you.” For 20 years I called pecans “Karo nuts” and never once did anyone correct me, until that day! Even now, at 33 years old, I still make that mistake and have to give my “pecan pie, Karo nut pie” explanation.

Before I can turn my head I hear “you moved up in line already”. I turn my head to see a middle aged man speaking to me from about an inch away. As I turn my head we lock eyes and he says, “you’re not my daughter”. I too am a middle aged man with short hair and a beard. I notice his daughter is clearly in her teens with long blonde hair and no beard as he walks to her behind me in line. Questions are, who should be more offended and is her name Olivia too?

However, since we didn't have to wait for Santa, we were able to open Christmas presents after the Christmas Eve service. Although we didn't have Santa, "St. Nicholas" did bring us a stocking full of goodies on December 6th. I'll go proofread this now.

Thanks to Nateland and Nic, I could recognize the dumbest "Christmas song" playing at the chiropractor. I am curious as to why Nic enjoys "Santa Tell Me" so much. I am finding myself having more and more Nateland connections to my every day life, and I don't know if that's a healthy thing or not. 😂

I like how theres this controversy about Nate/his dad on the Manningcast and no one is addressing the fact that 95% of what Eli says is indecipherable.

The manning cast wasn’t that bad. You kind of expect people to be awkward. That’s the hardest part to watch when they have other celebrities on. I feel like there isn’t much of a chance for success. You did good with what they gave you.

My in-laws have a Christmas tradition where they secretly assign each person in the family a code name on their presents. The names are usually selected based on a movie or tv show they all loved throughout the year. So my wife’s presents would have “To: Pam,” her brother would have “To: Dwight,” and so on. The tradition is for the kids to guess which gifts are for them based on the characters on the presents. This year, the code names are going to be stand up comics! “Nate” and “Dusty” will for sure be under the tree - Aaron and Bell-Jingles are a maybe

I’ve always compared Thanksgiving as the holiday middle child. We go from Halloween straight into Christmas and poor Thanksgiving always gets overlooked…… I should also mention that I myself am a middle child.

Everyone completely glossed over the fact that Aaron casually said he's never seen Home Alone. I'm a huge The Shawshank Redemption fan. But Aaron never seeing Home Alone might be more egregious.

I live in the DFW area in Texas and there’s a house near us which is decked out with decorations for “Festivus”. I laughed out loud when I saw the listing on a Google search because I thought of Nateland and Seinfeld and now I want to meet the people who live there because I think we’d be fast friends. 😂

When I watched Manningcast I immediately thought of any person who has tried to engage in a conversation during a Superbowl when they were only there for the party. Big kudos for Nate to hang in there and roll with the punches.

I was a fan from “yelled at by a clown” but If I say that no one believes. The reason is I sleep every night to some kind of comedy stand up so I start to learn about a lot of comics before the blow up.

Presents from Santa being unwrapped seems like a more common tradition in the South. We were talking about this just last night at work. Christmas lights are socially legal any time after Halloween. Before Thanksgiving is early but legal.
