My floor stand made by the Needlework System 4 Company. I currently have the Q-Snap attachment and the Frame Clamp attachment. Just a quick video to show the basics of the stand.

Wow, I have to say that this was the most professional review/explanation video I've ever seen! You had everything ready, no having to look for things in the middle of your talk, etc. I learned so much and you answered every question I could have had. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video!!!!!

I just got my stand out again. I’ve had it since at least 2016. We moved out of state in 2018 and I just quit using it. I forgot how to set it up. I use the Qsnap setup and totally loved your video. Thx so much for doing that video!

Thank you. The Wooden Stand that I was given as a Christmas Gift like 30 years ago died a death where I kept trying to make it work...reversing everything...I'm not left handed...and the point of balance didn't work, so it just kept making a head dive...and the original nuts were within wooden nuts, so trying to transfer things to wing nuts, while possible, meant shifting hands for the part of turning the frame over to work on the back briefly...not only now trying to retrain my non dominant hand to be useful in different ways, but the place to tighten and loosen was now next to my non dominant side, and my hand wasn't reversible. Several tries at different floor stands with non in the Goldilocks Zone for me, and I was beginning to think the hobby that was also my meditation Zen was gone and then after 2 and a half years of stress with my Zen unattainable...two houses, a few illnesses that damaged either quadruped family members or bipeds... Finding this system was - I'm not religious, so at this moment blessing or godsend seem like the wrong words, but also right. Finally a stand that could work and not break like the last one... But then NO instructions or pictures on how to put it together!! Arghhh!!! Finding your video was also a "blessing" / "godsend." Thank you. I'm going to check your other videos and hope you have something for the magnification and light holder, and god the scissor tray. The main part I've got, lol. But now like the mechanics in comedic tv shows, I have three extra parts At least they're not extra parts for putting together a plane or a vehicle. You'd know you missed something vitas with the sized pieces being extra. I hope you have these covered on other videos. Thank you soo much for your video on how to set this stand up.

Isn't YT great! You can find info on almost anything. Yeah, extra pieces - not good when you're working on a car, but okay if you're putting together IKEA furniture. Alas, I've never even seen the magnification/light holder in person. After staring closely at the pictures, I thing the silver "U" goes on the upright with the legs pointing to the right. That would put the wing nuts and the black tightening knob on the same side. I think the tray goes in the smaller hole. The larger hole looks like it would take the "pin" of a lamp that you clamp on the back of a desk. I use a IKEA clamp light on the back of my NS4 clamp attachment. They have since discontinued the one that I have. Looks like the NÄVLINGE would be very close in design. Hope that helps. Happy stitching!

I’ve had mine for at least 10 years and like it very much. It’s very sturdy. I do wish it was in the lighter material like the newer models. It’s quite heavy. Mine also came with a pattern holder. Thank you for sharing!

I have the system 4 and I love it. I have the clamp and the medium scroll rods. I should have bought the q snap holders but I just use the clamp. I also have the extra extension bar that helps the reach. I like that it stays where you put it and the "teeth" gear system.

oh my gosh! I have had this sitting in my closet with both heads for 4 years now, not knowing how to use it!!!! What a great video... I just gave up on it after I got it because I couldn't figure it out.... I've had the StitchMate Floorstand from Cozy Cottage for years and love it, but wanted to try something different that I could move around, so purchased the system 4.... I guess I just had "floorstand block" as how to use something new, so I tried and just gave up, packed my system 4 away and never looked at it again. I am going to get it out and give it another try, too expensive not too. Thank you for such a great tutorial. I really enjoy your videos. Amy from Oklahoma

Great video! I too leave my project on my q snap....not for 2 years but all week long, I just kind of loosen the tension when I am not stitching!! The qsnap holder is not wide enough to hold a millennium I know we had talked about trying it out. .

Thanks for showing this! I really really contemplated buying this system a few years ago when I first became aware of it, but there just wasn't enough information on the internet about, and it was pricey. Ultimately, I didn't, not because I decided against it, but because I just didn't make a decision at all. Now I have the Necessaire for my Millenium frames. If the System 4 had about 1/4" clearance or less, I would buy it now, as that is all the clearance my couch has. I can't use my current stand at the sofa for that reason. I sit next to the dining room table. I am looking into swapping the legs out with a thinner rigid material. I tried to order the special legs from Needle Needs, but that turned out nearly impossible.
@OrganicGranny
@OrganicGranny 9 жыл бұрын
Just a thought - can you turn the bottom half [legs] 18O degrees and then put some weight on them so the stand doesn't tip over? I know it would stick out into the room, but maybe that's a work around. [I'm the only one in my stitching area so navigating around my stand isn't an issue for me.] OR can you raise the sofa? Just shooting from the hip here, but I know you're an engineer at heart. :D

Oh, how exciting! I hope you love it. No, but I can't remember when it ever bothered me that there wasn't. When I'm weaving under to tie off a thread, I think I have a hand on the underside, too, to steady it all. Happy stitching!

I’m considering purchasing the System 4 lap stand. I like to use the scroll frames for cross stitch. Would the frame attachment work or would it be better to buy the scroll frame holder?

I need a scroll frame for my husband who stopped stitching his large beloved piece because the q snap tore his fabric. Can you recommend a scroll frame that is top quality. He has leukemia and this was his way to relax... Thank you.
@OrganicGranny
@OrganicGranny 2 жыл бұрын
Ooo, Debra. I may not be the right person to ask about scroll frames. I have a hate/hate relationship with scroll frames. I've tried a few. Most don't get the fabric as tight as I'd like. You didn't say what size the fabric is on your husband's piece. The best I've ever had....I have no idea what brand it is but...I ripped off the basting tape. Then I used velcro (hook and loop) tape. I put the hooks on the wood and the fuzzy on the cross stitch fabric. This allowed me to line the fabric as straight as possible and roll the scroll rod onto the fabric. Plan on cutting off the fuzzy tape from the fabric when the piece is complete. Hope that helps! Happy stitching.

thankyouthankyouthankyou, my new heroine!! I've just received my qsnap frame (with minimal written directions) and, although i'm not particularly mechanical, I thought it would be easy enough to put together! arrrrghhhhhh, after about a sweaty hour, I decided to hit the internet and found YOU!!! your video is so well done and so thorough and so clear! I'm saved! I tried one at a needlework shop and decided that after 45 years of stitching, I deserved this. I love it and am just deciding what to mount on it. I have two questions,please. is there anyway to use a grime guard garter with the frame? I don't guess so. and the only thing I'm not getting is that the "swivel factor" on mine is not as fluid as I've seen. it's quite firm. is there a way to adjust this or does that come with use?Again, I am so grateful to for your help! off to watch the rest of your videos! cheers, Lucia
@OrganicGranny
@OrganicGranny 8 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you found the video useful. I believe firm is better than floppy. I like mine to stay when I take my hands off. But if it is move-the-stand-around-when-you-flip-it firm, you can contact the manufacturer and ask. I use a grime guard for just the bottom where my wrists would touch. You could try putting the grime guard on the q-snap first and then attaching it to the frame. Happy stitching!

Will the Oxford Gripper Frames work with the Frame Clamp??
@OrganicGranny
@OrganicGranny 3 жыл бұрын
The jaws of the clamp will open to a maximum of 1 5/8 inches. So if the non pin edges of the wood are 1 1/2" (1.5 inches) or less, it should fit. You will have to adjust the clamp around like a "U". with the white clamp plates more vertical. However, if you need to get to the backside of your work, you may have to remove the frame from the clamp. If you're using the floor stand, you may need the arch part, too. Hope that helps.
