This is the laser engraver that I want to get, but with the extension rails. Thank you for this review video and the one you did on how to get patents onto Inkscape. I just found your channel and subscribed.

Im putting one together right now, exact same as yours but with a e80 modual..i struggled with the frame and corner brackets since the machining is very tight but not perfect so the screws wanted to go in tight and was damaging the threads in the aluminum extrusion..and i ended up loosening the corner brackets from the channel to help align the so the screws would go in without cross threading..ive been a mechanic and a fix it all for 50 years but i was getting a little frustrated lol..but now i question the squareness of the frame so i have been measuring everywhere i can think plus using a square but the only way i can get the the gantry to hit both sides at the same time in the front is to solid mount the top and bottom left side of the frame to the spoilboard and then shift the other side of the frame and attach down kinda in a bind..That makes the gantry hit both sides at the same time but when i x measure from bracket to bracket it shows its out by about 1/8''...my Y rails are perfectly parallel to each other so i guess im just going to have to wait and engrave a large rectangle once i getting it going and measure for square..ive considered leaving the drive chains off because Neje abandoned using them on the max 4 saying they was causing binding and harder for the motors, but i went ahead and started mounting them anyways..im like you i had to look all over the internet for info and didnt find the instructions till i was about done because they was in the bag with the usb cable lol..also i feel the air valve is heavy and probably should just lay that on the table..the screw holes in the brackets dont line up anyways only one screw will work..the brackets are not square either and not at perfect 90 degrees,dont know but dont think they should be like that so i will probably bend them some..it shows adjusting the lower wheels in the instructions and shows a bolt head, but on the machine its a philips head, do you know anything about adjusting those wheels?

If you mean the concentric nuts. You can adjust them from underneath. I also have some problems with squareness.

I don't have this unit but I plan on getting it soon... I assume the wheels you are talking about are just like on most 3D printers. You turn the concentric nuts just until you take all the play out of them. but not too tight, kinda like adjusting rocker arms. (I'm a mechanic as well ;) ) Have you been able to get it square or is it causing any problems now that you have it setup?

@@jeffallen3382 its still out of square, i confirmed by engraving a rectangle on a sheet of cardboard the size of the working area and when i X measure it is about 3/16'' out..i don't want to solid mount the frame to a table or board because i want to be able to raise up the machine so i can cut or engrave thicker materials..im not sure how i will get it into square without doing that..although so far it has not effected anything i've cut and the projects didnt need to be perfectly precise but they have been on the smaller side..it will start showing up on large projects..other than that im very happy with its capabilities so far
