As an 18 yr old living with a homophobic father in his 70's and a severly disabled mother, with a very cis community at school, I can confirm in my experience, being LGBT as a youth is not fun right now.

I have no clue about the LGBTQIA experience nor can I speak on their behalf, but it seems to me ridiculous to try to "convert" someone into a construct that doesn't fit them. They're existence being as they are isn't harming people, so let them be who they are.

That's not how conservatives view religious freedom. In conservative eyes religious freedom means that everyone must conform to their particular religious belief, or be chastised.

I’m so lucky my parents were awesome. They’re very proud of me, and how I’ve turned out in life. Of course, nobody is perfect, but I literally couldn’t ask for better parents. I feel for people that don’t have the same.

It’s not often such organizations apologize for hurting people, so I’m at least glad for that. I never understood what these conversions camps were meant to accomplish and when some of their leaders came out themselves it was just so clear how foolish the whole thing was. God loves you as your true self.

Looking at this, im so happy that 1. My dad/mum, even though they are split up, are cool with each other and support me being bi n nob binary 2. That i grew up in a liberal household and liberal british town. 3. That i always had a choice with everything

This documentary was a real eye opener into some things I hadn’t really researched more in depth so I’m glad it was made and that I was able to watch it and learn so much, I hope everyone who made it and was a part of it are doing well. Such a moving documentary! Made me cry, get angry, and I’m now even more passionate to spread the truths that were uncovered here. ❤❤

Today the very simple is always complicated by current social mores. God made each one of us. Our sexuality is our business and as long as it's lawful, should remain so. If we have to say that children should not be judged one way or the other but allowed to grow up and decide for themselves, we are truly lost.

I do not have any ideas about how these individuals feel. I do have certain opinions about the LGBT community that might open a debate. But with that being said , honestly, what someone does or what they want to be should be respected. We can't obligate someone to view the world and do as we say because it doesn't go along with your beliefs and ideas. This "converting" is disgusting. Truly heartbreaking that someone has to be shamed and hide away. I am so sorry if it has happen to you.

California education code recognizes that non binary gender identity is ever expanding. Schools are reporting students identifying as various animals and characters: cartoon figures, cats, wolves, owls and others. Do you think this is sustainable long term?

The fact that it has to be a "cause" in the first place. The fact that we aren't accepted into normal society, that we're grouped into a minority because of how society views us, and now it's being politicized. A bunch of people waving a rainbow flag doesn't change the amount of abuse some of us still recieve just for trying to live our lives. We are brought into this world only to discover the rude awakening that this world isn't built for us. That our lives are inherently more difficult than the average person, just for being who we are. That's why suicide is a problem. You can shower a veteran amputee with all the praise in the world, but it still doesn't change the fact that every day they have to wake up with a part of them missing.

Some people wear across because they believe in treating all people with respect, understanding, and tolerance. It’s wrong to judge every person wearing a cross the same. Some of the most kind, caring, compassionate, and LGBTQ+ supportive people I know wear crosses. It’s also offensive to try to deny the beliefs of others. You can believe whatever you want, and so can they. You are no better and no worse than anyone on this planet.

The root cause of it was YOU. Take responsibility for ruining people's lives. But God stepped in and shut him ALL.THE.WAY.DOWN. You CANNOT force anyone to do anything. Interventions don't work. Fighting, screaming and crying doesn't work either. The only way out of darkness is through the light. And you have to hit rock bottom. And if you don't know if you've hit rock bottom, you haven't. People only change if they want to. OR, they lead double lives.

Now let's see the same attention being given to all those trying to detransition after permanent disfiguring operations and or chemicals that in some cases was started during their childhood because they were simply confuses and would have benefitted from simply talking to someone.

They were strapping electrodes to "their bits" and using electroshock on them while showing them 9orn to try and program their brains with pain. That's why their "re-education camps" were completely banned in multiple states.

Have you seen the numbers on conversion therapy? If they don’t commit suicide, they’re mostly left sexually dysfunctional for life. Sure, some of them can commit to a false version of themselves. But breaking your son or daughter, destroying their spirit and sense of self to fit into a box they aren’t built for is in no way love, it’s monstrous, and if you put your child through this kind of psychological torture, you shouldn’t have any right to be involved in any child’s life.
