Let me know what you think of Batman Arkham Shadow news and sequel to Origins.

I’m excited for this game. Ratcatcher doesn’t actually die in Arkham Asylum, he dies in Arkham City. It’s implied through an Arkham City story (in game btw) that he is killed by The Penguin for stealing as he was dragged away by two of his thugs and was never seen again.

It breaks my heart we aren’t getting this game as a console game.

Perfect time to release an Arkham origins remaster

i saw 2 interviews with the game director, it looks promising from that i heard and they seem to respect the brand more than WB or rocksteady (nowadays at least), in time the game will be available on multiple platforms, it should be as long as arkham asylum or close to it (8-9h from what the director said). They said mechanically its arkham asylum but in VR so thats something to look forward to

It would be perfect if along side Arkham shadow we get and Arkham origins remake or remaster or he’ll even a port and hopefully Arkham shadow leads to more traditional Arkham games.

I’m glad we’re back in the Arkham universe again for a good reason this time and although it’s VR: hopefully this will be a sign for more games to come with Roger Craig Smith.

Frankly, I don't care that they race swap Ratcatcher. First off, we have never seen his face in the franchise and second the Arkhamverse is an Elseworlds. AKA not main DC canon.

The freeflow combat screenshot looks interesting. If the game is somewhat like Vader Immortal, it might end up pretty successful. I hope it does good, but the Meta Quest 3 aspect is gonna be pretty rough

I actually don’t mind it be only VR, I like the idea of having free flow of combat so from the outside we’re just boxing the air around us really well

only thing im mad about with this game is its only on quest 3 which means it probably will fail due to poor sales for going with exclusivity and giving how game companies treat IPs now a days we might never get more from the arkham verse

I know a lot of people are unhappy that this is a vr game and want a console game, I feel the same way. But honestly this is a step in the right direction for the Arkham franchise. Given what happened with Suicide Squad maybe Rocksteady isn’t best to keep the franchise going at the moment until they redeem themselves. And that goes double for Sefton Hill and his new studio considering that he was the one that caused the game to be delayed and removed the melee combat system to use mostly/only guns and then left the studio to attempt to avoid the smoke. That’s incredibly two-faced. Anyways we know this game isn’t gonna be a tech demo like Arkham VR. It’s gonna be a full fledged VR game and the developers did great with the iron man vr game. You got Stellar Blade which was the first AAA game made by a studio that previously only did mobile games and that game was great. If this game is the same, maybe this studio will get the free flow combat system from WB Games and they can make their own AAA Arkham games going forward

Ratcatcher dies between Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. It’s mentioned that Ratcatcher became a rival to The Penguin in Arkham City and was fed to Tiny the shark after he grew too big and The Penguin started losing money.

I watched a interview for the game today and they mentioned that ratcatcher and rat king are two different characters and yes ratcatcher is still gonna be in it. Also some people dont know this but in the interview i watched the game is supposed to be as long as arkham asylum so its supposed to be pretty lengthy

something you forgot is in an arkham city story its said that penguin got ahold of ratcatcher, and in arkham city his cries were being hear all over park row, being dragged to the iceberg lounge. or something i know the stories said he died in arkham city. so being change to penguin green bottle eyeglass and arkham shadow, it seems arkham is like assassins creed yeah. cause ratcatcher in arkham asylum & city was a white guy too. but idk man aparently deadshot also had a daughter with the same name

From Arkham videos video it seems this game is featuring stuff and locations from the Arkham origins comic which I love cause I loved the comic tie in

Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction for the Arkham series. And Rocksteady making a single-player game. I hope it's good and something more like what put them on the map

after this trailer I'm positively interested in the game, but I REALLY wanna see a gameplay trailer. rn I can't really imagine what Arkham-like freeflow combat is supposed to look like in VR. and dear god they need a gliding mechanic. if you could glide over gotham (atleast in a semi open world level) I'm 100% sold

there is an assumption that the rat king and the rat catcher are 2 different characters. and perhaps the one we were shown in the trailer is the rat catcher, and the rat king will be unknown to us

Then explain the Arkham City story of Ratcatcher how he was dragged to Penguin's museum when Cobblepot didn't want a rival vendor of supplies for the inmates, considering the fact that Otis used his rats to sneak through the pipes and takes resources in Gotham and bring them to Arkham City? Also I'm letting the Rat King name slide if that's what his followers and the public called him and Otis Flannegan chooses to go by Ratcatcher.

They need to go back to the roots of the arkham franchise. Come out and say that SSKTJL isn't cannon and just continue the franchise with roger. There's so much story potential they have as you said between arkham origins and asylum. It's really a no brainer here.

I just hope its not like the first batman vr and we actually run around parkour, physically punch and fight enemies, etc etc.

I think the success of The Batman film by Matt Reeves, which focuses on a younger Batman, is a key reason why Batman: Arkham Shadow even got greenlit. And if the Reeves Batman movies continue to be successful, then I think its very possible Roger Craig Smith could be back voicing Batman in console Arkham games. However, since Rocksteady always encloses Asylum, City and Knight as the "Arkham Trilogy", its possible Arkham Origins will spin-off into its own canon and have its own trilogy with Roger Craig Smith as Batman. Could be cool if this is the case, but just a theory of mine.

Never dug Roger's voice for Sonic. But he makes for a pretty decent Batman.

Not thrilled it's a VR game, but the story looks interesting! Think it would be awesome if they re released AO with all the DLC on multiple platforms including switch in honor of this games release. Think it's about time they made an in house sequel but still think WB Montreal did a good job. Also hope that Keaton's suit from flash makes an appearance in the re release as well as this games suit, just for fun! Would also love afflecks armoured suit from JL

I'm worried it won't make the amount of money needed for WB Games to put 1 of their studios on another Arkham game, they just about killed the franchise with SSKTJL, then to finally do an Arkham Origins sequel introducing Harvey Dent b4 he's 2Face, Rat Catcher, also having Crane and Quinzell in the game too yet put it on Metaquest 3? Not many people gave that and who can/will afford a $500 system for 1 title? I love Arkham more than I care to admit, its my all time fav video game series, I do multiple playthroughs each yr. Yet I can justify spending $500 for this game as badly as I want it. The decisions higher ups keep making with this beloved franchise is baffling.

People thought VR was the future of gaming but it really isn’t, and isn’t for everyone, console gaming will always be the way

I'd much prefer a console game, but it is somewhat cool that Roger gets his own VR game. Kevin got one, so... Why not Roger? And while I'm not really big into VR (for cost reasons), it is a little disappointing that the game won't be available on other VR systems.

Hey Kwing, I'm not joking if you crowdfund for a Metaquest, I will donate to you, since I can't buy one myself.

I am excited about it. However, I am VERY frustrated that it's only on the Meta Quest 3. If you already have a VR system, you're not going to want to shell out how many hundreds dollars just for one game that could have been played on your own system. Bad marketing.

Well as far as cgi trailers its a pretty solid one and hope the game maintains that tone. Really been tired of that self aware sarcastic millennial writing thats been overdone in everything. Glad to see Roger Craig Smith back, he's great as Batman and hope to see him in future batman games. Not sure if I want anymore arkham type games since they ended on a high note with Knight and anything more would feel repetitive.

I legitimately can not play this. Since Meta Quest's headset is around $500 which is just money I do not have nor could afford for this. I also could not see a lot of people going for this either, whether it be because most Arkham fans are console or PC only or because most people prefer other VR headsets compared to Meta Quest. Could be wrong, but I can't see this working out in the long run after it's released.
