Atlanta sounds more southern and refined, NOLA has that distinct Caribbean rhythm. I’m South American but I had a friend from Macon GA who talked like the ATL dudes, loved his accent!

Miami and New Orleans sounds nearly the same, I'm from New Orleans and lived in Miami for many years and noticed that we have a common bond, especially with the Haitians and people from the Bahamas.

I’m from mobile, Alabama born and raised been going to New Orleans, Louisiana since I was a kid, mobile is right next to Biloxi Mississippi, Pensacola, Florida, and also 2 hrs from New Orleans I’m from the south but everytime time I go to the N.O. I get jealous of their accents lol

im from Birmingham Al. We sound very similar to Atlanta. If you go into certain counties deep in Alabama like Selma and hear the elders talk, they sound like they speaking a whole nother language

The New Orleans accent is harder to understand. The Atlanta accent sounds a tad bit more literate like they had some education. The people in New Orleans sound like the most education they got was 2nd grade

@@7emy255 haha I'm from a tiny town in Iowa, almost the complete opposite place. I understood the vast majority of it, mostly just accent differences making it sound mumbly. I grew up speaking super standard English so when I moved to Alabama a year ago it was a huge change.. I had maybe talked to three black people in my first 18 years of life. Definitely have learned a lot

And sometimes its just how you talk. if you ever come here youll see a variety of all different kinds of people.

New Orleans accent is so unique. As a New Yorker, I love it. Is it just me who thinks the N.O accent sounds way less southern? This comparison with Atlanta proves it-Atlanta sounds more southern while New Orleans sounds less southern. I can’t even explain it. New Orleans accent is so cool

I’m from Nola and your assumption is absolutely correct. Lol I’ve traveled all around this country and literally no one ever assumed I was from Nola let alone the south. The broken English is definitely an indication of very little education and intelligence.
