Portal Can't wait to get mine next week, all is love to know is how you find the lag (if any). Most early previews said they couldn't tell they were remote playing a game, hopefully this is the case!

I think that's because they were in the same room, on the same dedicated wifi - I am hoping that real-world use will be 75% as good as that. I am really worried it will be trash on anything other than the same network, though....

@gabrielgalaxygh ha dude she has her own 55 inch and does not want to be there she wants to be with mom and dad at all times so when I go to play all she wants to do is hover or just sit right next to me so imagine cyberpunk 2077 and she's right next to me or even gta or maybe last of us I can't have her watch that type of stuff so I just play when it's bed time

Mate what’s the range of the link from ps5 before it switches to Wi-Fi ? I heard the proprietary link protocol provides lag free gaming. Will be interesting to see how it compares to wifi

Can you compare an iPhone 15 pro max to the PlayStation portal? I want to see the quality difference. The iPhone has an OLED 120hz screen so in theory it should be better but I’m curious if the portal runs differently since it’s all it does

Please test outside of your home's wifi. Such as with the portal connected to your phone's hotspot, and if you are at a friend's house on your friend's wifi using your portal to connect to your ps5 that is left on back at your own home.

Question - is there an embargo or something existing, which says it‘s allowed to present the PS portal itself, but it‘s forbidden to show the portal Running the OS or gameplay? Maybe one little note to your video - seems like the thumpsticks are smaller compared to the dualsense controller. Also it seems that the buttons to the right feeling different during pressing of the buttons. You said it feels the same. Could you check again?

@@frankpatterson9682 haha yeah, seems like this. I am quite sure that the PS Portal itself is a good hardware product. But I fear people simply don't buy it because they don't see the need to do it. I wonder if it's possible to take the portal to my GF appartment, and playing games from there but my PS5 console is still at home. Or is it confirmed that the portal and the ps5 console have to be logged in in the same WiFi Network?

I’d love to hear how it performs on WiFi at a house. Everything I’ve seen has been at the PS hub and I’d imagine their internet speed / surroundings are set up perfectly.

This is a product that needs to be shown how it works yet Sony has a review embargo on it further limiting information on it. I preordered but I really need to see how it works because so far there is not much info on the product and it’s not a good look.

Why pre order then? If all seemed bad why still pre order after so little good press has came out about this garbage it’s just a ps5 remote with a screen that can only be used with a ps5 and Wi-Fi connection, I was sold on Sony making another handheld but this is just sad for Sony when they made the psp😂

Portal Interesting but it it worth the $200 price tag?? It’s like Nintendo Wii U. I want to see the capabilities outside the wifi network. Can you use it on a different wifi network?? What is the minimum you need if you are outside the wifi network the ps5 is in?? And of course battery life

No, you cannot use it on a different network The range outside of the local PS5 network is 0. It needs to be in range of the same network to work. It is a remote player. Battery life is the same as a dualsense, about 4-5 hours But, you can't leave your house with it anyway, so it's really fine to keep it plugged in while you play. You're welcome

Like it does on any sufficient WiFi network. It's not tied to your home network. There is nothing imply otherwise in the marketing.

Mine arrives on Tuesday Not Wednesday! Im so excited 😆 im pretty sure my 1GB Broadband speed will do the job. Ive had terrible experiences with remote play in the past dating all the way back to the PS3. Im hoping this finally nailed it. Spiderman 2 New game + hopefully soon and just purchased Kao Tge Kangaroo, Robocop, and Baldurs gate 3. Lets go PSp

I’m sure the Remote play will be way better than what we currently have on tablets and phones also with the nice sized screen games will look great plus two dual sense controllers it will be like a mini PS5.

Bruh dualsense controllers don't have stick drift issues. Shit is so rare outside of joy cons, decade year old controllers and abused controllers. Just treat it with care and you will be perfectly fine.

Bro every game runs on your PS5, and streams it to this. It is just a screen with a controller attached. It has no internals. It doesn't run anything, your PS5 does and streams it to this screen.

I was just reading that you will be able to use the Portal anywhere, on any WiFi connection, as long as your PS5 is in rest mode. All the people who have been saying that this device is a failure are gonna eat their words 😂 in Sony we trust.

I'm glad that I'm getting it on the 15th because I pre-ordered it. But I'm hoping in the next 4 years or 5 release a PlayStation 5G or 6G and you can use SSD M2 for storage and download your games from your system and yes also sony can make a software which allows people who owns a disc. And having an LED display instead of LCD for outdoor gaming and being able to use any network and an improved battery like a 5,000 lithium battery, I don't care if it cost me an extra 300 bucks.😊😊😊😊🤑🤑🤑🤑😎😎😎😎

@@spiralkingxiii9496 yep! I got lucky on my ps5. Walked in GameStop about 15 minutes after they went live. 3 disk editions we’re already gone and I got the first digital edition. Got my PSVR2 from Sony Direct and was able to get it day 1 also. People don’t understand that when you know it’s getting close to going live you have to keep on you’re A-game to get one. I’ve been doing this since the PlayStation 2. Haha! 😁

Looks cool, but stick drift is notorious with the ps5 controllers. You can’t just replace the sticks you gotta buy an entirely new controller. This handheld device will be broken inside 6 months

It really isn't. Dualsense controllers don't struggle with drift. Just don't abuse them and it's extremely rare.

That won't happen. It does not have the processing power and nobody is doing that with PS Remote Play. Everything is not hackable if everything is not being hacked.

@@cesorceryit does not need any "processing power". It has zero power. It is literally just remote play. There's no reason why somebody can't hack it to remote play steam games over local WiFi. It needs no power for that. And, yes, people absolutely DO hack everything. Everything which can be hacked, gets hacked.

What's REAL and RIGHT is that remote play is not hacked to play steam games because THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE due to how the technology works and proprietary system requirements. You are delusional to believe otherwise. Reality is real.

It does not work unless your PS5 is on the same network as the portal. If you do not have your PS5 with you, it will do nothing.
