it looks interesting , I'm not sure at this moment I'd take it over the PXE80 simply because of the flexibility of that unit 3',2'' 1" plus otrher ways I've figured out how to use it. But it looks powerful enough but yeah the power switch lets me know the testers for Rupes either didn't say anything or they did say something and Rupes ignored them. Its also too expensive, at $400 and no 2"or 3" adapter like you get from Flex this cost too much. Great review as always .

Sorry for such a late comment Sandro. The review is great and I appreciate you have described everything you dislike as well - this is the greatest. I believe we all enjoyed the footage you have covered everything around including youself by compound))) This is another respect to you to show this to us. And I have already seen you have adjusted your technic in next video by tapping it when start to use. Cheers from very snowy spring in Sweden.

Count me in as one of the people eagerly awaiting this review. Gonna wait for Rupes to fix that trigger before I grab one. Definitely doesn't follow their philosophy of superb ergonomics

great review as ever Rupes do make great machines and are built to last i can live with the hair trigger but what makes it hard for me is the price thas the big flaw for me but sometime quailty does cost IN Sandro we trust

Thanks Bob and yes, price is certainly a factor that needs consideration. Here locally Rupes and Flex are almost identical in price with Shine Mate coming in cheaper - but I know that can vary a lot depending on where you live.

Fantastic video! I always enjoy your opinions on products and the video editing is 👌🏻 I don’t think you covered it in the video but what was the battery run time like? Did it ever cause an issue where you ran out of battery and had to wait an hour for it to charge? Thanks

Thanks and you may have missed but I did discuss battery life - it’s really fantastic and I never once ran out of juice, even when going hard. I think the battery life and charge times are better than other cordless polishers I’ve used.

These smaller batteries are incredibly strong.. We use them in carpentry and has done for long ✌️

While the trigger is a huge design flaw, they also seemed to overlook how you put it down. Ordinarily I'd place the polisher on the floor on its back while I panel wipe and inspect. With this, it sits on its side with the pad touching the floor. It was obviously designed on a whiteboard and had no input from the engineers.

Would have been nice to see the battery compartment able to have a converter insert to make it a corded version to allow for extended running times.

Hey Sandro, talking about polishers. What do you think about those rotary attachments like the shinemate mpk-3 micro for polishing interior plastics and behind door handles?

Think they are handy to have when no other polisher will fit and I do use mine from time to time - but if I can use my 1” rotary or DA pads/machines instead, I do prefer to go that route.

Great video as always. Any word or thoughts on this form factor being used on a possible cordless next gen LHR15? These product videos are great, would love to see your thoughts on the Milwaukee cordless polishers.

Thanks and I would love to see some of these design, power and battery life traits in the anticipated LHR15/21 cordless Rupes polishers. I would also like to test out the cordless Milwaukee DA and rotary, maybe I’ll get my hands on them down the track.

Hi Sandro, great video. Launching this product with no safeguard on the hair trigger is inexplicable and inexcusable, particularly as other polishing machines in their range have either the delay, or the trigger lock, as you clearly demonstrated. Roll on version 2.😊

Hey Sandro, Just have a quick question. What do you use on piano black? mine are full of swirls which I will be correcting - however I want to prevent it from happening again. is there any sprays that can protect it? nv boost?

Although a ceramic coating can somewhat help reduce swirls in those areas it certainly won’t prevent them from occurring. PPF - paint protection film is the only real solution there.

Looks like they fixed the turn on switch now. If you have the older model u can order the new switch.

Honestly the flaw isn’t that big of an issue. You adapt very quickly switching the dial to zero when needing to put the machine down.

Technically you could, but it’s not something I’d recommend as very time consuming using such small pads to do an entire vehicle.

The PXE 80 is a 1” & 3” as well as a DA and rotary polisher so it’s not really a direct competitor. If it’s just a dedicated 3” DA polisher your after then the Rupes may be a better choice, but if you want more options for pad sizes and machine movements the Flex will be what you’re after.

As a dedicated 3” DA I do think it’s the best on the market, I’ve also heard that Rupes has made a new replacement trigger with a safety latch - but haven’t seen it here locally yet.

That’s really unfortunate mate, I’m not sure why as it hasn’t happened to me, but certainly contact the store you got it at a hopefully they can sort it out quickly.
