New Sails and Engine Teardown

In this episode I order new sails from Precision Sails as well as start the process of removing the marine specific parts of the diesel engine in preparation for its removal.
On the boat is an Isuzu C 240 engine and I was able to source a brand new one as it is still used in forklifts. However the new engine will need specific parts from the old engine in order for it to function in a marine environment.

Another interesting vlog , thank you , at the end of the day you bought an old boat to travel on and is your home, the boat is a solid foundation, and when you’ve finished you will have a brand new engine new sails, basically a new boat , to me it’s know difference if you bought a house and the gas boiler packed up the roof leaked etc, it’s your home and in my opinion a smashing boat, carry on with it 👍

Yep ... you have paint tarps/ground cover tarps ... those sails are done ... finished ... shot ...

From memory 10 degree downtilt Zf gearbox with water cooling jacket fitted in a 34ft sailing yacht.

don't feel bad about not going anywhere lol. I recently bought a 1979 Harden 45, a little bit different then yours but mostly the same, it is sitting on land in the marina. so mine doesn't even float yet lol. you are one step ahead of me.

@@OnnoKok yep mine has the larger windows. my port companion way is a large freezer instead of a nav station, and the starboard has a bunk up top by the stove. she is currently named Polaris Mar, we plan on changing that at some point. I did not know about the Facebook group, I will have to check that out. we hope to be in the water this fall, after hurricane season (FL). then who knows where from there.
