Nice video! That new rocky switchback... I've attempted it about 15 times and every time I chicken out just after the berm....... Maybe I'm too old to do it?

I went back to Haldon for the first time in ages today. I couldn't really remember any of it except for the black section... but I recognised the run in to the new rocky S bend from this video. I went round it fine while my mate stopped and looked a bit put out so thanks for the heads up! (I did fess up to having prior knowledge of it and put him on to your channel) Anyway a line's been made that cuts both corners turning it into a steep but straight line down the bank, we all know what this is for.. Now I don't use the popular mapping and tracking app so it shouldn't bother me but seeing these cuts really pisses me off, I hate cheaters. So I carried a couple of the rocks that had been kicked down the hill back up to remake the little wall on the exit of the first turn. As it was quiet we hung around for a while sessioning the turn. This bloke came along and took the cut before the first corner, saw that the wall had been built up again and quickly spun around to do it properly muttering as he went. He saw me grinning and moaned that the cut through had been blocked off again. I asked why it was needed. First he said it was more challenging. Hmm. Then that it was "good to have line choice". Yeah right. Finally he admitted it was for Strava but further to this he said it was unfair that the route had now been made slower and that he _has_ to cheat to have a chance of beating old records.. How sad.
