Even if I was using a regular revolver, I doubt I'd trust my aim beyond 5 to 10 meters and that's pushing it. I've seen a few videos of this gun and the proof is in the pudding. Obviously, it's personal defense that we care about and, no, I'm not looking to kill anybody. Also, it costs less than $200 USD. That's a whole lot less than a Taser even. Worth it, imo. For anyone wondering, the joule conversion is about 8 to 20 foot pounds. Let's be honest, it's not going to scare a wild animal (I'm talking about the big ones. For the rest, I scare them just by being there. heheh), but it's got teeth and would make a drug addled aggressor possibly think twice just by looking at it. Thanks for making the video, it is very informative.

Now that's the right platform for shooting slugs! The Umarex revolvers are the only ones I would trust to shoot non-round projectiles reliably for self defense. Mag-fed options are just too unreliable.

Is hdr 68 with z ram or devastator ok for self defense ?

@@alextitan3028 Sure, it's capable of using for Less lethal defense. Just don't go crazy with the mods to add HPA or large CO2. Stick with the stock setup for reliability and safety purposes. Remember that the internals of the HDR is cheap pot metal of variable formulation and durability. Also, note that the outer shell is just plastic. These are built cheap for paintball and nothing more.

Hey mate! Oh yes, these barrel shrouds make em look pretty good, and what I like about it is that you no longer need a longer barrel to have it, it just screws onto the bottom rail. Made in Europe, very close, be careful!

Just for reference the FBI standard lethality on a 10% ballistic gel target is 6-8 layers of denim and 12-14 inches of penetration.

@@AirgunAlley it’s actually surprising, I have a feeling those may kill you as well after seeing it spit the coconut. The ballistic gel test for lethality is strictly based on penetration, it’s not able to factor in what that would do to your skull. Either way I would not like to be on the other end of that.

Love your channel, wished I lived in Miami instead of the UK, You have the sort of fun with airgun that I enjoy but yours is more destructive! I must try the coconut challenge but I better not tell my Thai wife, she would be horrified. You never tell the cost of your ammunition, I presume you get them free, those Z-Rams cost around 5-6 USD in the UK and your grocery bill must be quite high, ha ha. Keep splitting the Atom, Richard

Yes, I put a disclaimer in the description of my channel saying that I get 99% of the products I review for free. But the reason why I never mention prices is because they constantly change - while a video stays up in the ether for ever. So I can give a price and then a few months or years later the costs becomes half that… Better to say nothing and put a link for people to click on and check for themselves

I think this in some between.30-.40 caliber would work better for self defense. Make the slug longer and sharper like a 762 and it would have alot more penetration

The cool thing about these is that you don’t need the tuning barrel, you just screw it to the bottom rail. One thing it does in the HDR 50, I’m pretty sure, is increase its accuracy!

Wow Gian, those are some absolutely bad a$$ projectiles. Especially the new design of the new 50s, loving the rifled upgrade too. Not too sure about the added extensions personally mate. I use my pistols for home defense and need them to fit in my bedside cabinet 🤣🤣 look great though from an asetetic pov. Thanks again for creating this content. Great review bro! I really like those "barrel extensions" that Quattrovolante make, they make the HDRs look so badass! But I'm curious, do they add any real value to the gun? What do you think? Are they just good for style or is there any other good reason for using them on your HDR?

Thanks again man. I think the HDR50 one helps with the accuracy. This gun is not the most accurate. Adding barrel length really helps! And it may also increase the speed a few FPS….

Extender barrel 4inch give around 5 joule more power. I have that kit and going up to 14inch, max for 12g. I will modified my new HDR50 with 88g stock adapter. Give even more power and its look like an military weapon😎 Nice to built for my self. But I will have the other one look like a gun😎

So, wasit then the Projectiles or the Modifications on the guns that made the difference?? I have the HDR50 and would like to know if I will get the same results even without the mod or do I now need to go and buy that aswell?
