as an Oilers fan I can say that the defense was not good at all. Stu came out good but the defense allowed many horrible chances in the 1st

Have not seen Mcdavid and Draisaitl smile like that in a long time! We're still in a deep hole but this game has to be a huge confidence boost and a step in the right direction for the Oilers! They have the ability to play hard but it needs to be done consistently!

They scored some power play points so they’re happy considering that’s all they seem to care about is scoring points. McDavid is still a -7 on the season PP points don’t help with that 😂

I was thinking the same thing. Some of those goals, no goaltender would've been able to stop them. His defenseman needed to clear the puck.

@@christopherworks400 The Caps were one of the hottest teams in the league going into the game. The game ended with the Caps having 5 power plays to Edmonton's 4. Perhaps Edmonton deserves some credit for playing a good game.

@Marixa1979 the Caps got lucky with buffalo, and Columbus, then Vagas was a fluke with how good Vagas has been. The Caps defense has been taking dumb penalties and the PP has not done much. Yes they have a winning record but they are getting lucky.

Fast paced game, solid effort. Depth scoring comes through. Good for skinner n nuge to get that confidence going. Good win. Long road ahead but every journey starts with a step forward. 😊

Why does Nuge need to boost his confidence? Both he and Kane have 17 points in 19 games and Hyman had 19. Nuge has had 17 points in the last 5 games.

Браво , Эдмонтон , с победой !!!! Овечкин вообще не шевелится еле еле , б...ь (великий ) . Эдмонтон просто накидали Вашингтону . Сухарь !!! Я удивляюсь как Вашингтон терпит такой балласт да еще капитан !!! Только и видишь как стоит в своем загашнике и ждет кто бы подал !!! Вся команда играет на его (рекорд ) !!!

только нарезку в обзорах видите? Здмонтон сегодня, конечно, реализовал свой план на игру, но текущее положение: у Вашингтона с овертаймами - 12 побед, у Эдмонтона - 7. А так-то лидеры нефтяников очень подвижны) да, явный недобор в результативности у Овечкина, но удержав шайбу в овертайме прошлого матча, он дал команде право последней атаки, которую Уилсон и завершил. В сегодняшней игре Уилсон палил впустую. Команда в целом не справилась. Кто на кого в Вашингтоне играет?

А не надо удивляться тому что Овечкин еле шевелится, Линдрос который в молодости играл в такой же силовой манере в своих последних сезонах выглядел еще хуже, хотя и был моложе Александра.

@@bombastic81 у альпинистов - есть "Клуб восьмитысячников", в НХЛ - только трое за 800 шайб зашли... Сделал он или не сделал Великое дело - ему самому виднее! ему еще 3 сезона закрыть надо - это контрактные обязательства, которые только форс-мажором отменяются или обменом (так принято в этой деловой среде).. я, прежде всего, смотрю хоккей: и через обзоры, и через статистику, и просто трансляции нахожу - из матча с Баффало, к слову, третий период и овертайм в прямом эфире наблюдал. А потому говорю о том, что видел и оценил.. В этом сезоне еще 60 игр - будет еще повод неоднократно порадоваться за его результативные действия)... и тебе не хворать!

Feels good to get back in the win column! Full 60 minute effort and solid D and goaltending and look what happened! I really hope that we see much more of this kind of effort from now on. Good win against a good team, let's go! Also, congrats to Stu on the shutout, he was much sharper and the D in front of him much better and limiting the high danger chances

I'd still love to know about the review on the Nuge goal. The ref's just decided to review the goal without a challenge from Washington? What initiated the review?

refs have right to review if they think it was a high stick or close to being one without a challenge

@@jameschapman7996 So it's arbitrary? Could potentially favor one team over another? Or is there criteria that governs that decision? Seems like it should have been up to the coach of the Caps to decide if he wanted to challenge the call on the ice as it was called a goal.

He's so slow. Even when he puts in the effort (which isn't often) he is always 2-3 steps behind. Time to stop double shifting him on the PP it obviously isn't working and it's just tiring him out more (even though he doesn't move)

With the power play they have Edmonton could be an absolute monster of a team, but even with that consistent offence the management can’t figure out how to use analytics to get defensive players to keep the puck away from the goalie. What an absolute joke of management they have.
