haha! that was awesome - i'm constantly impressed by your willingness to try new things, Nick! i'm from KS and my parent's land looks just like that. i would call a bit of BS on whoever gave you a full sized ax instead of a hatchet or hack saw which is what folks would normally use. you almost had it too when you squatted down! ppl usually lay on their sides and cut the trunk of it that way you can see under the branches and hold them up while you work. also drag it back by the trunk instead of the branches so when you drag it you are going with the flow of the branches. otherwise, great effort! 🙂👍
