Apparently my whole family opted to make gingerbread houses together this year for Xmas (I live in another state), and my sister in law made a gingerbread strip club. She even used little candy letters to make “Neon” signs on the roof that say “tits” and “boobs”. I’ve never been so proud.

“You are all of my family. I am never coming home for Christmas again.” 😂 I like how the sprinkles on the side of Nick’s house just looks like there’s trash on the side of the property 😂

I love you two! I needed this video today. I teach preschool and there's 3 teachers at my school. We thought it would be fun to make these exact same gingerbread houses as a class and then put the 3 together and let the parents decide which house is better None arrived broken & I have the pre-K (oldest) class. One of the teachers cheated and brought in gumdrop, jelly bean, mini-pretzels, etc. The other class has 2 special needs kids and the roof had literally been punched, broken, and collapsed when someone got frustrated. My class ... Those little ball candies (which I fully thought you'd call balls after a cold shower) aren't easier for tiny fingers as tiny fingers are just learning fine motor skills. I'd say ours looked closest to Nick's but our wreath was hand scribbled with a green marker when someone got frustrated. So glad to see that adults had difficulties with those stupid houses.

When I was little, we decorated gingerbread houses that were made by pouring the gingerbread batter into house shaped molds, that I think actually came from Germany, and then baking them. So it was really more of a gingerbread cake. Then we'd slather the whole thing in frosting and decorate it with all sorts of candy: gum drops, peppermints, and Necco wafers, among others. (Seriously, shingling a roof is the only thing Necco wafers are good for.) Thanks for bringing back fond memories, results not withstanding!

He still managed to glue it together and make a solid home with four walls to keep the snowy weather of Christmas out.
