Got an 85 nighthawk 700 and did the carbs. Pain in the rear end to take them off because of those intake boots. I put the carbs back on but now idk how i'm gonna get the airbox tubes onto the carbs. I was thinking about going with pod filters because those airbox tubes are just shot, but then you gotta rejet the carbs and seems like a lot of work

I am planning to do a restoration project on one of these. I was curious if has been really difficult to get parts.

Yes! I have lost some body panels on this bike which I have not been able to replace. Also, the carb slide diaphragms shrink, which causes top end running problems. I am going to have to update my install technique, as I don't think I got them seated right the last time. Unfortunately, Ebay is pretty much my only source for used bits on these bikes, but it can be pricey. There is some OEM new stuff on Bikebandit.com, but it is hit or miss as a lot has been sold out and is no longer available...

Your video helped me get my carbs off my bike. Bike was a gift but sadly had sat outside for 19 years and when I went to start it and give it some throttle the cable broke because it had almost rusted through. Needless to say it's hard to find new oe cables for it.

Ooof that's tough! I'm thinking I may need a parts bike soon in order to keep this one on the road... Glad I was of some help though!

@@carolinacars739 I'm following your channel now because I have a feeling I can learn a lot. This is my first motorcycle. I plan to restore it since right now it looks very rough.

Sounds good and good luck with your progress! Post updates on your account so we can follow your progress! Also, check ebay for parts as they have a lot of used stuff on there that might be a good substitute for unavailable new parts. Saw a few throttle cables on there when I did a quick search...
