You can say a lot of things about this game, but at least it has a Gingerbread Man that is probably difficult to catch, even if you run as fast as you can.

The horrible thing is I like the idea of the game. Silly theme for a ninja, sure, but it looks like is it had proper controls it might have been fun. Of course it could have use more development but still.

1:22 LMAO I've just been messing about with DOS Box, Sarah, and old games are just as good now as when I was a kid, but MAN I have been spoiled by modern controls!

3:17 amd only when you're dead on square with it too. The old DOS shooters are the same way, C Dogs comes to mind. (super fun game btw, if you can get another person especially. there's split screen co-op.)

Glitch after glitch after glitch. Myself I've got one of them retro consoles that plays like 40 odd different 80s and 90s consoles or computers and this game kind of reminds me of that. Yep it plays literally thousands of games but somehow it cocks up the gameplay from weird camera angles to falling through the scenary. Watching this reminds me of that. Love the colourful scenary but god them frustrating glitches really kind of takes the sparkle away. And if you are playing on the original platform then that's even more bad because there just Isn't any excuse whatsoever for such sloppiness. You did persevere though so credit where it's due. Kudos.

My ex used to make gingerbread cookies with weed butter. She called them ganjabread men. Maybe that would make the game better.

I remember the first time I played gingerbread Man , frustrated isn't the word ...it actually became a bit of a rite of passage at one company I worked at...if you could play gingerbread Man with out getting mad.....

I question why they would construct their world/universe entirely out of sugar confectionery products, When it rains its just all gonna desolve and melt away then great swarms of bees will show up in a orgy of consumption. they effective built their castle on sand :-D

3D makes jumping way harder. Look at Chakan the Forever Man for example.

It's a shame they had to retool a Zool sequel into this. Although thinking about it, Zool could be nearly as annoying as Bubsy at times.

I agree with you when you say the game LOOKS okay. I think the stylized, themed aesthetic goes a long way sometimes, especially for a cheaper game. Shame about everything else about the game being bad.

i'm glad that this wasn't zool 3. i get that it was never a good series, but as an atari boy i have some memories of it, it didn't deserve this, which looks significantly worse than earthworm jim 3

Ninjabread man is so fast because the game started life as Zool 3D. Octavius you probably would remember the amstrad sort of mascot Zool, for those who don't remember zul was made by gremlin graphics and appeared on the Super Nintendo Genesis Game Boy I think Game gear and a sequel on the Atari Jaguar. Gameplay is kind of an odd mix between Sonic the hedgehog and Shinobi.

It didn't appear on the 8-bit computers, so I'm assuming you meant "Amiga" rather than "Amstrad", as it's on the Amiga Zool started. The first level was basically sponsored by Chupa Chups, hence the various sweets.

Ah yes. Ninjabread man. The game that's quite possibly a prototype for Zuul 3D that was rejected by the rights holders and converted into its own cheap mess. This and some of the other DDI games I've played (I got them for like £3 for 20 or so of them) are the only games to make me feel sick. At least it isn't the monkey Ball clone?
