“even if it’s not perfect”. OMG!! I’m sure SHE could pick out a flaw, but for most of us it’s the perfect combination of song, artist and performance.

I knew there had to be another reason besides her flawless voice, her song material and natural beauty why I love Norah Jones - listening to her here regarding today's pop singers and songs did it! She hit the nail right on the head! Only critique is she was too kind!!

Yup. That's jazz. One take, leave the errors in. Hands off. Hats off to you, miss Jones.

I always imagined that Come Away With Me was a letter from one person to another. Then that other person didn't come, wrote a responding letter with the lyrics of Don't Know Why, but never sent it. It fits quite nice actually. I was always secretly hoping these songs were in fact connected, but I guess not. :)

I first heard this song on a Now That's What I Call Music collection (I think it was #11), and I'm now just realizing how weird it was to have this gentle jazz ballad sandwiched in between R&B sex jams and post-grunge "butt rock." It just goes to show you that you never know what's going to speak to people at any given time.

I first heard this song on the radio without knowing who the singer was Don't know why but I fell in love with it. Later I came to know that the singer was as beautiful as the song.

At the same sort of time, Alicia Keys and Joss Stone were also coming through and Katie Melua already pretty established. Suddenly, my faith in music got a bit of a pick-me-up... :o)

I totally agree with Norah. Do you know how many mistakes there are in songs of The Beatles? Dropping tamborinesn or John + Paul messing up their lines (mostly John) Geore Martin never went for what sounded right, but what felt right.

Why isn't this an interview with Jessie? What's the story behind the song?

It's bizarre that as technology has gotten better, recorded music has gotten worse. Listen to Rubber Soul and tell me that it doesn't sound better than any recorded music today. I'm not just talking about the talent of the Beatles, I'm talking about the pure sound of it. It's better. We've lost that today. They had only one producer their whole career. Today, artists will have 5 on an album. And it sounds so much worse. Norah is right. Go back to the old ways.

As an audiophile I can tell you that there are TONS of new music recorded to perfection...problem is it's not the kind of music it becomes successful ! Norah Jones's first 2 albums are an exception.

@@SpaghettiKillah Yeah, I think its that there is just SO much more music out there now. I mean, is there even a billboard top 40 any more? Who listens to music based on youtube suggestions? Chances are good if its getting hawked, its because its some corporate piece of trash that was made just 'hoping' it will get traction. A lot of producers want to 'record digitally' so that its easier to manage and manipulate.
