He’d rather stew away in his castle, alone, making rubber ducks than admit that he wants to see her more (+ assuming her plan wouldn’t work and not supporting her in it just because HE failed at it before)

Precisely! In any other situation he would be the strongest character in the room (aside from Charlie) but here he has to resort to other means since, if he DID flex his powers he would end up humbled so bad.

@@theycallmebad TBH even with Charlie, Alastor is pretty careful about how he acts. When Charlie is in the room he plays nice and even lets other characters throw some insults at him, he just laughs it all off. But when Alastor and Husk are alone and Husk dares to talk back, Alastor is very quick to snap at him and shows that he's really not any better than Valentino with how he treats people he's made deals with. Dude is a psychopath, plain and simple. If he could he would act like that all the time, so far he's restrained by the fact that he has to appeal to Charlie + there are other Overlords who probably match his strength like Zestial or Carmilla so he can't boss everyone around all the time. With Lucifer, Alastor probably knew that he wont just kill one of his daughter's friends in front of her so he could afford to push the boundries but even then by the end of the song Lucifer straight up grabbed Alastor by the collar and probably would've whooped his ass if Mimzy didn't show up and distract everybody... and notice how afterwards Alastor never insults Lucifer again, he doesn't try to butt in when Lucifer and Charlie have a moment either.

​@@vominomi damn, I didn't realize how much I needed to see someone else say that (that Alastor is no better than Val) Like, I understand that Alastor is charismatic and technically on the side of "the good guys" (for now at least), but I don't understand how people could hate Valentino's guts for the way he treats Angel Dust and then turn around and be like "hee hee don't mess with Alastor 😚🤭" when he treats Husker exactly the same. ESPECIALLY after episode 4 drew a direct comparison between the shitty situations the two of them are in.

I was gonna comment the same thing. It's absolutely amazing the small details that are lining each episode.

I think everyone kind of imagined he would have turned bitter and resentful after being cast from Heaven. But he wasn't a sinner in the traditional sense, in this story at least his "Pride" was the fact that he thought he could do things better and tried to share that vision and have Heaven embrace it for the betterment of all of Creation (whereas originally Lucifer selfishly and foolishly thought he could surpass God). So his heart was always good, he was just depressed because he thought no one cared for him and his ideas

I think the same, I thought it wouldn't be like that because of Vipzie's feminism (I'm not saying it's wrong) We wouldn't have something about mom turning against her son, I thought Lucifer would be a bad father and that's it. But it's more interesting this way.

I was curious if anyone else picked up on the fact that there was something off about that scene of their family. Lucifer obviously didn't want Charlie to leave and she wasn't bothering him, but Lilith just scooped her up and left and Lucifer must have been used to it or had reason not to argue because he let it happen (again even as he obviously wanted Charlie to stay). I feel some of the neglect that was happening though was because of Lucifer's depression. I'm not blaming, but depression does make you socially withdraw from loved ones even as you crave to be around them. I felt that as Lucifer doesn't call her often, but freaks out about her calling, especially that she is the one calling him and then places a lot of pressure on himself to be perfect on the call (which, I personally done). It isn't intentional, but he might be acting in ways that are counter to how he feels and are interpreted by Charlie as the opposite of how he feels. So, yeah, while I feel something is off about their family, feel like Lilith did things to keep them apart and believe that Lilith isn't actually the person/mother Charlie thinks she is, I also think some of the problem is Lucifer's depression causing him to act in a way that aggravates the issues in their relationship and that are misinterpreted by Charlie.

None of you lot in this thread have ever lived with depression and it shows.

It annoys me so bad that people dismiss Husk during that scene because he responded negatively to Al treating him like a literal animal. Husk was just trying to warn him, but he decides to be a petty shit and get pissy when Husk meets him at his level. I like Alastor's character but he's such a little shit in need of being knocked down a few hundred pegs.

@@karlesia We've also seen that Angel has SOME freedom; when he's not in the studio, he can do what he wants. I sincerely doubt Husker has any similar freedoms. Alastor has some slack on the leash, but it is *always* on, and he can tighten it whenever he wants. That said, day-to-day, no contest, Angel has it far worse. I'm just worried what Alastor may eventually force Husker to do.

I recall reading that Alastor was Vivzie's first character she designed that would end up being moved over to Hazbin/Helluvaverse. Speaking as someone who is a DM for a DnD group with a homebrew setting, is working on a fantasy novel, and has several other novel ideas in mind, the first character I typically design tends to be the antagonist/'true villain'. This season will focus more on Heaven and the Angels and the Extermination. I recall in an interview it was mentioned the Vees would play a larger role in Season 2, which to me indicates the Vees will be the primary antagonists of S2, likely focused on freeing Angel. This also sets us up for Alastor to conclude his rivalry with Vox with a resounding victory. But I don't buy for a second that Alastor's motivated by boredom; he's ambitious, ruthless, calculating, and power-hungry. He doesn't give a shit about the Hotel, he gives a shit that it's run by the daughter of Lucifer, the *one thing* that could be used as a bargaining chip against Lucifer.

Well, yeah, I mean, that's the KING OF HELL having a litral song batte with the RADIO DEMON, about the PRINCESS OF HELL...and who the hell jumps in and makes it all about herself? Mimsy? WTF?!

According to Viv the two are "very much in love" and her word tends to be taken as gospel, so maybe them splitting's not entirely divorce terms But it could easily be something harmless like "Time for bed sweetie, dont interupt papa when hes working" They do also have different values. Lucifer essentially told Charlie her redemption pitch would be rejected by the angels since he already tried, while Lilith is more the revolutionary type. On the time board there's a poster of her concert with the words "RESIST"

There is also a photo in the room of Charlie with Seviathan at their school prom.

This is what finally tipped Angel Dust over the edge. This is what convinced him that there was actually someone on the other side that believed in him, that cared about it, enough so that maybe salvation might be worth a shot. Husker gave him the hope that he needed to survive, of course, and gave him the friendship and confidence he needed to see himself as more than just someone's slave, but Husker was, ultimately, a loser just like him. It took believing in someone as powerful as Charlie to make him think he could actually be better than Hell. And if Belief is enough to save a soul from damnation...well, we can start to see exactly what Heaven would see as a threat from that.

Exactly. Alastor is the kind of person who needs to remind people with theatrics of what he can do to you. But Lucifer is so powerful that he doesn't need to do that kind of flamboyant dick swinging because it is beneath him.
