November 2023 Estate Sale Haul! - The Good News and Bad

Күн бұрынIn this video, I talk about a recent estate sale I hit, some good and bad things about it, and a ton of tips for those of you who need to get back to sourcing or have yet to get out there and do it!
Everything I've learned from my years of experience is completely free here, no gimmicks, no paywalls. I'm here to help more people start a side hustle (or career) that helps them get a step up in life! Bamboo species Yellow Grove or Golden are a banned plant in Suffolk County NY. Bamboo is considered an invasive plant

Which is such a bummer. :( The US had its own native bamboo way back when, I don't know if there's any of those left though. Bamboo is cool. Annoying, but cool. Lol

I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy looking at the auction site “with you” and hearing what you bought. It’s interesting to see and you have good insight!

Estate sales are different than the sales that I'm used to going to in my area. These sales are one day and you bid against other people. Interesting. Hmmm, I have quite a few of the Disney book and records. I had picked them up at yard sales for my kids and never got rid of them after they were grown. Thanks for showing.

Hope they get you some good money! :) Yeah, I've seen plenty of auction-style estate sales, but I avoid those. Got plenty of other options anyhows, if I did have to source every week. But I know of plenty of people who do well at those too, they're just not my thing.

I've been doing well at an online auction house that's less than an hour away from me....they have books often, and I've gotten some really great surprises because they don't show you many photos of them, so I'm buying basically a lottery ticket. :)

Not yet! Haven't shipped out yet, but I've found some incredibly interesting spots that I'm stoked to check. 40 acres for 10,000 is a win too, seeing lots of stuff in that price range now. :)

@@darleneaitken1620 No, but that's fine by me. I want to build one anyhows! :) (Always been a dream of mine. I'm a little partial to rammed earth and I think it'd be fun to marry millennia-old stuff like that with some modern things.) BUT, I will add that there are plenty of homes for sale that are 40-80,000 popping up that are "move-in ready" in my world. Sure, they aren't that for most Gen Z-ers and other youngins, but I can fix things up as I live at a place. Not my first rodeo! Some of those houses are actually move-in ready as well, but there's no fun in buying something that doesn't need some love. Sweat-equity or bust!!! I am seeing the occasional great deal for land and a house, but I'm not in position to act on those just yet. They're about 100,000K out of budget for me, but they've got a few hundred more acres to them too! We'll see how things pan out there. :)
