This is another lofi hip hop jam performed on the Elektron Octatrack and Digitakt 1.50
Recorded these stems with Reaper using the following plugins: Melodyne, Cableguys Shaper Box 3, Soundtoys Effect Rack, Eventide Blackhole and some other plugins that I created myself.
I then rendered the stems and performed the whole thing via the Octatrack and the Digitakt, no post-processing was done except for adding a limiter to catch any clips.
Please give me a like and subscribe if you enjoy this stuff - I post a new jam every week and don't want to feel like I'm posting into a blackhole!

p.p.s. Please ignore me while I frantically change the thumbnail and title every few hours. The KZfaq algorithm is difficult to please and I'm still trying to find something that really works. Some weeks my videos will fly off the shelves like a hot waffle in the morning. Other weeks, it just gathers dust in the dark corner of the room. Who knows why. shrugs

Also love how most of your songs have sort of a second vignette introduced, often sort of a morph from the first part. In bigger picture it's kind of like call and response or a dialog. Sorry if I'm overthinking your ideas for you.. Hahaha. Anyway, dope, once again.

I'm pretty impressed that you noticed to be honest! I do try to incorporate some kind of switch up half way through to keep it interesting. It's a little bit because I find it fun but also a little bit to keep people entertained watching my videos. :)

Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm always appreciative of nice comments, they keep me going! The Digitakt is a fantastic piece of gear, make sure to read the manual so you can get to grips with all of the functionality it has to offer. Beyond that all I can say is practise as much as you can and experiment as much as you can, especially with the new machines it has. Like werp. I usually set aside time to experiment with no intention of actually making music. Then I can apply what I've learned at a later time when I'm in the mood. I've been asked to make some workflow videos to show how I put my performances together. There'll definitely be some Digitakt ones on the way. Digging the envelope filter bits a lot. I recently ran a Flanger into an envelope filter and it was a blast. Surprised I'd never thought to do it. Are you the guitar player in Tiny Greg, too?

I'm the everything in TinyGreg :) I actually started out as a guitarist before discovering Synths and Samplers. The envelope filter was a happy accident, I think the best way to make music is to just approach everything blind and experiment in weird ways. Okay maybe it's not the BEST, but at least its the most fun way!

@@tinygregmusic hahaha Tiny Greg is a good thing to be everything of. I really enjoy your playful/ thoughtful art work. I also stared on the strings and found these wild little boxes. Filters can get so deep, sometimes we are standing on the edge of jump; and then we jump. There is a story element to all of this - this will sound incredibly pretentious but the same way a jazz pianist can be lyrical with dynamics, like water, so can filters, and more dramatically, tell stories... ha. Well, hope not to be spoiling your comments.
