I loved Okamiden; it was a great game with a fantastic story, and I loved all the nods to the original game. What disappointed me though was that, while it WAS a great game, it wasn't the game I wanted. *spoilers* I wanted to see Waka and Ammy reclaim the Celestial Plain, not watch Ammy's kind-of-or-possibly-literal son romp around places I'd already been in. I was really disappointed when I heard the game wasn't going to have anything to do with the Celestial Plain. *end spoiler*

I know it may not be the best sequel and it's pretty much underrated. But you end up falling in love with those colorful characters. And the ending is especially sad. I love this game. Not many people know it, but the little fanbase it has is what matters. And the soundtrack is great too.

Thank you for this video! Unfortunately, there's not a lot on Okamiden. So, it's nice that this video exists. It's very thorough and informative. I also appreciated how fair you were in evaluating it. For a self-proclaimed fanboy, you didn't seem to gush about it. I would suggest trying to cut down on the humor a little, though. I see what you were trying to do with it, but the presentation of it just left it being awkward and disruptive.

This is actually a pretty good game (Okamiden) , one of the last jewels of the DS . I'm glad the 3DS has backwards compatibility because it plays better with the 3DS stick.

I do have to give you credit for the Future Perfect reference. I love it when I go back and go through who I subscribe to and find out one or two are still worthwhile. Keep it up.

It shares the same issue as phantom hourglass. A sequel to a masterpiece that wasn’t given the resources or hardware to shine. It’s actually depressing how similar this cycle was.

Yeah, I think this game would have worked better if it had been a 3DS title, if not on one of the regular home consoles. I also would have preferred if the developers had not recycled so much from the original Okami. I like places like th Play House and the Thunder cloud, but I was less interested in re-visiting some of the areas from the previous game. I also wish the developers had note gone so far with wanting to tie it so much with Okami. I don't think the time travel part was needed. It took up space that could have been used for something else. As for the big Bad, going with the child theme that is used in the rest of the game, I think it would make more sense if Akuro was the 'offspring' of Yami rather than the dark force inhabiting it. It picking up the torch as the new Lord of Darkness.

The 3DS analog stick certainly makes movement controls in these 3D DS games much better. Not perfect but still much better. [Super Mario 64 DS, Okamiden, C.O.P., Kingdom Hearts etc.]

I have just recently found Okamiden, after having searched for it endlessly after beating Okami six months ago (i didn't know about the game for a long time) I absolutely love it, its a great sequel if you ask me (okami is better though)! Though I don't think Chibi's name is really Chibi...rather Issun just gave him a name like all the other partners did. I would also like to know who his father is...they never mention it...

Doesn't help that okamiden was released at the the end of the Nintendo ds's life span,the dungeons are the same....all of them have you light torches and push buttons with either chibi or your companion or both at the same time and the game doesn't look all that great they should of waited and released it for the 3ds

I did the same thing with that disgusting part "Not a wolf" and. "Not a human" but accidently switched them so chibi had the "not a human" sigh (but this has nothing to do anything so...hi!)

It looks like Ammy and Waka are holding hands like a couple at the alter (or it does to me) and then they spring apart after like they're embarrassed (or found it super awkward)? I thought that was hilarious! Seriously though, Issun wondered who Chibi's father was and an on-going joke I've heard among other fans is that it's Waka for some reason ... weird thoughts 😖😖😖 Thanks!

Jayden Hamilton nope! Waka's totally a guy (all official sources say so including the wiki) and if you pay attention to his dialogue in Okami he often calls Ammy things like 'ma cher' though I think he's just messing with her when he does. Me personally? I think Ammy wanted a kid so she had one! All the other Brush Gods call her 'Mother to us all' so I think it's totally possible she just had Chibi with needing a father. Laters!

This game should've been for the PSP the original one was for the PS2 which the controls were much tighter and smoother for the PS2. and I think you got your statistics wrong, the Wii version was weak trying to draw with that damn Wii controller was like trying to perform brain surgery with a shovel. The only reason we even have Okami is because of Okami for the PS2 so by rights it should of been for the PSP. it never will be, which in my personal opinion will be why it will never be any more. Nintendo has it's "Zelda" let us keep ours...
