G'day Okie, Have you considered having a tray (with handles on two sides) to carry the hot molds from the melting pot to your cooling table? Maybe have a lip on 3 sides to stop the mold from falling off. You could then slide the hot mold off the tray without needing to touch it. This would mean only using that tool (not really suited to carrying the mold) to move the mold to the tray.

I watched you stripping wire video, I have the same knife that does not slide in the blade, & I've also tried the way of stripping using the flaring tool. I'm was thinking about the water under the melter like your doing. The other day my wife needed some boiled eggs to make a bunch of deviled eggs, so I make a point of getting the water boiling with hot aluminum cupcakes & cooked a bunch for her. I think we need to be more patient when it comes to knocking out the cupcakes, I see you have beaten up some of your pans like I have. I'll get another video out soon, I played around with my burner today, I'm happy with it so I started on making a place to melt aluminum like you have, although all I had around was a 30 lb. Empty Propane Tank (7.1 gal.), so I used my plasma cutter & cut the bottom off from it, after taking the valve off & blowing it out of course, :) . I think I need to use the top that I cut off & blow a bunch of wholes in it, to make a screen/platform to catch all the junk & slag, I think it needs to come out easy so I can just lift it up & dump it while it's hot of course. I was thinking about using sand & maybe a 20 gallon junk water heater as outer isolation, you know the sand between the propane tank & the water heater tank. Later when I find a bigger tank I'll might redo it. I plan of buying a tip & such off your sight. thanks.

@@Okiescrapper gotcha. I am thinking of doing 2 of them. One for melting large items with large steel intrusions, like a lawn mower engine, boat prop, cylinder heads and so on with the drain hole style, while another furnace sits on its side, and aluminum simply runs out with the incline, where the incline is not sufficient to allow small screws, carb flappers, and sets screws to roll or slide out.
