The company reached out to us, and he wanted to compare their product to other products on the market. I always tell them, " Be careful what you wish for! " So, we grab some of the best knives we have in the house. THE POINT WAS TO SHOW YOU PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE BEST AS WELL AS SHOW YOU THE VALUE OF THEIR PRODUCT VERSUS HOW EXPENSIVE SOME OTHER KNIVES CAN BE. WE DID TALK ABOUT THE METALLURGY AND THE WEAR AND TEAR. WE ALSO TALKED ABOUT UPKEEP AND WE SHOW YOU HOW TO USE IT AND PERFORMANCE. LISTED BELOW IS A STORY FROM THEIR WEBSITE. WE ARE ALSO INCLUDING A LINK FOR THEIR PRODUCTS. We were not compensated for this review. The knives were sent to us, and we did the review live for you. We are in the box them in front of you and we use them. Their performance speaks for themselves.
The story of Okingjoy® begins with a founder, Mr. Sato Ryo, who has a deep love for both traditional and modern design. He was born in Seki-shi, Japan, a city with a centuries-old history of blade making, and from a young age, he held great respect for the traditional craft passed down through his family. However, Mr. Sato Ryo was not content with simply preserving tradition; he wanted to bring this ancient art form into the 21st century.
"Okingjoy® is the epitome of ancient Japanese art, using carefully selected Japanese Sakai steel and time-honored forging techniques.
It was born in Heisei 3 and embodies Japan's artistic heritage.
Each blade shaped by craftsman spirit combines beauty and practicality.
Knives live to express all beauty, and I live to make all knives.
Okingjoy® symbolizes a world-class brand that pays homage to Japan’s enduring forging tradition."
----- Founder of Okingjoy® Sato Ryo
Heir to a century-old Japanese blade-making tradition

Glad you liked it! I need to apologize for taking so long. I've had a surgery on my knee and some other things going on. We've had the court case for my car accident. We had to deal with that as well. We've also had some other major things happening personally. Deaths in the family and lots of arrangements to be made. Also, I'll let you know that I will be having another major surgery in June and will not be making it to the Blade show. I will be out of work for two weeks because I'm having all the extra skin cut off of my body. We do apologize for an interruption of videos if it were to happen. Will try to shoot some head for you guys so we can fill the space. That being said, thank you for checking out the show. Thank you for your support and your comment.

These are just kamikoto knives by another name, identical handles, box, steel other than the grind. Don't get ripped off guys. Like how Kamikoto claims to come from a long lineage of Japanese knife making but they never specify where their knives are made, and in reality they are made by Chinese OEM makers. There is nothing wrong with Chinese made knives, but why masquerade as Japanese when they aren't. The site specifies they use 5Cr15MoV which is specifically the Chinese version of 1.4116 German steel, but if these were made in japan wouldn't it make sense to have these made of the Japanese equivalent to 1.4116 420JS especially when their site says they are proud to use (quote from their site) "kitchen knives are crafted from renowned steel from Sakai City, Japan". Ultimately it's the consumer's money but I urge you to not fall for this BS.

Thank you. I'm not sponsored by them. I was just repeating the information given in the paperwork. I do understand that the specifics failure referred to as the Chinese version of the German steel. The other knife is VG 10 so that is a good steel. It performed well. I need to apologize for taking so long. I've had a surgery on my knee and some other things going on. We've had the court case for my car accident. We had to deal with that as well. We've also had some other major things happening personally. Deaths in the family and lots of arrangements to be made. Привет! В следующий раз попробуй двигать филе, а не нож и у тебя получится идеальный срез. Движения правильные, но только всё наоборот. Отличные ножи 👍
