Uncannily fine. Could be their best song. But then I think that of about 50 others. God bless The Carter Family.

According to anyone who really knows it's absolutely Sarah and mother Maybelle on the strings AP wrote the songs he had health issues that caused his right hand to tremble almost always so he couldn't play a guitar

0:23 On a hill lone and gray in a land far away In a country beyond the blue sea Where beneath that far sky went a man forth to die For the world and for you and for me 0:45 Oh, it bows down my heart and the tear-drops do start When in memory that great hill I see (hill I see) It was there on his side, Jesus suffered, yes, he died To redeem a poor sinner like me 1:26 Hark, I hear the dull blow of the hammer swung low They are nailing my Lord to the tree With the cross he upraised while the multitude gazed He ascended that hill lone and gray 1:47 Oh, it bows down my heart and the tear-drops do start When in memory that great hill I see (hill I see) It was there on his side, Jesus suffered, yes, he died To redeem a poor sinner like me 2:08 Shout aloud then, my soul, let the glad tidings roll From the land to the end of the sea (of the sea) Where beneath that dark sky went a man forth to die For the world and for you and for me

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pt91hZCJusfLm2g.html Check out The Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle sing this song on their set here. It's the 3rd song, just great. AP and Sarah's nieces Helen, June and Anita Carter with their mom. They carried on the great legacy of the Carter family, just beautiful! All four songs are really nice!

You might try Caleb Klauder. He's part of a group called The Foghorn String Band, and they do an excellent version of this song. If you leave a message he might be amenable to giving you the tablature.
