slydogstroh you are modest Andrew. So there is a hope for someone who never had board sport experience and an older person, like me? I have 90 miles under my belt 😂 all of the miles are fragmented miles. I will be afraid to write between cars. Happy riding. What is the trick to balance on onewheel?
@CitizensCommunity
@CitizensCommunity 3 жыл бұрын
@@shupingyin8082 The trick is understanding why one can drive fast on ice without a problem until one changes speed or turns. Understand the amount of power one has, and how much is being used to maintain speed and level, and not trying to use more power than one has left.

New riders push the board without understanding how to keep control of it. When you have literally tens of thousands of miles on the board like Stroh does, you are able to ride comfortably above 22mph because he can feel what the board is doing and knows how to keep his weight positioned.

1st off- great riding and great video- thanks for sharing it. 2nd- I'm studying how you ride, feet position, carving, etc., just to get ideas of how to ride with control... I'm not worried about speed just yet. Without control, speed is irrelevant. At around 14:20 into the vid, you do something so cool with your slow down/braking technique- it even SOUNDS cool, like PPppffffffrrrr, PPpppffffffffrrrr... it sounds like air brakes! I am mesmerized by this. What did you do? Curious minds want to know, lol. Totally bad ass. You are the reason I bought an XR, just like Jimi Hendrix is the reason I picked up a guitar. That's the highest props I can possibly give you.

God I want a fender and flight fins. But just don't have $250 to throw at it. But Dame do I need them for off road. every medium size Rock on the trails throws my feet right off the board which makes it hard to stay on the board to make corrections in vector. Or when the board leans far to the left or right it's too easy to slide off of it more so when dirt dust get on the traction pads. I want to get a treaded tire to go with it so I can start leaning like I used to on my sportbike to turn.

And if not where could I buy something like that?

I ride on the roads all the time. Even in Boston. It's not any different than riding a bike on the road. You pay attention, act like everyone is out to hit you and you do alright. In fact, it's safer in a city like this that is used to bikes and pedestrians weaving around all the time. Smaller cities with little bike and foot traffic are a whole lot more nerve-wracking, trust me. Though I wouldn't go between moving cars like that. That's a bit crazy. But in front of a car in a lane? Sure.

@@pahoualo What is really pissing me off is that we're the first rider, the pioneers of those alternative way to go around. Bikes are already deeply rooted into the culture but we have to show public that we're responsible as well and OW, esk8 etc are safe too. GewusstWie I mean, I wouldn’t advise riding like this unless you have thousands of miles on the board. I’ve been doing this every day for years so I’m very comfortable in the street.
