I cannot thank you enough for being so precise with directions. I’ve looked for you for months. I did not want to “cook” my pickles either. I became an orphan at a young age but I can still remember my grandmother’s canned pickles and foods and chocolate gravy in her iron skillet. I’ve had to be self taught in everything from living to sewing, to different ways of processing food and my goal is my grandmother’s foods and I think you do it the way she did. You are wonderful. Thank you for taking the time. Bless you.

What are my options if I don't get seals? Can I water bath them? Ugh. I think my jars were too cool, and I filled all jars first, then put on lids. I did it at 10 pm last night, and this a.m. only four were sealed. So I did it all over again today at 3 p.m., pulled pickles out, reheated brine, new jars. It's only been 6 hrs and maybe two jars are sealed, so I don't think the others will and I'm approaching 24hrs since my first attempt.

Great video! I packed my pickles tightly, but the whole group bobbed up so that the tips are exposed. From looking at the jars in the video, it looks like that isn't critical(?)

I fill one jar at a time and leave the emptys in the oven until it is their turn.

Miller Meadows. Do you grow your own pickles and what variety if you do? Also, have you personally done this with spears or sliced? And, why the bay leaf? I use them for soups or stews but haven't seen them used for pickles. Btw. I seen your channel recommended on a canning group by someone so thought I would check it out. Thank you for your time.

This video is awesome!! Thank you! Stupid question as I am a beginner. Does the 1in headspace start at the top of the jar or below the ring line?
