Today we installed a third brake light housing by OPT-7. Looks great!

Another Awesome tutorial brother!!! Love the post edit comparison. Way to call out Diode Dynamics on this one....couldn't agree with you more on them making housings for our trucks. That third light looks WAAAYYY better on that white background

Love the video! Was just wondering if you have had any problems with water leaking into the cab from the 3rd brake light?

No, we have had zero problems to date…..….ours may have the best results because at home it’s under cover, and at work it’s under cover…..I honestly believe that most people who have problems have them because the screws were over torqued and the light housing cracked. Just my opinion though.

Grant Mohns ha! Agreed 😳 I looked at the seal and it seems to make good contact all around, but it does seem to be a thin seal.....there's a good chance I'll replace the seal with a thicker one. We did have a good rain yesterday...no leaks so hopefully we safe.

Hey Rocky I know it has been awhile. I just installed this 3rd brake light today, but did order a thicker gasket from amazon for peace of mind. How has yours held up since the install?

Awesome, hope you like it…we have had zero problems with it. I truly think many problems are derived from over tightening the mounting bolts.

I'm with you I wish there were high quality LED replacements for housings, but I cant get behind the black "ricer" look of whats out there now, doesnt fit the truck IMO

How have you liked the Bison over the last year as a daily and feedback on combined mileage. I am torn between one of these or a All Terrain , w Duromax, keep up the good work:)

The Cisco Kidd we have been super satisfied with it. We did a video on the fuel mileage but it does I believe 22-23 average...everything has held up extremely well even after some of the abuse we have put it through! If your considering one I would say go for it! But if you have the need for a full size truck.......these just can't do what a full sized can, but that is a large part of the reason we like it so much....it really fits our needs.

@@rockyaev8287 Muc appreciate the reply, I have no interest in a full size at all and also realize the Duromax is down on power to gas but that's not my concern , range is, + ability to tune later after warranty for more power (probably before that lol), diesel as is , is more than enough for me

The Cisco Kidd yeah the motor is derated due to emissions, and is not as “peppy” as the gas version....and there is a little turbo lag, but the turbo lag is not that bad..and if you know much about diesels you know they have potential unlike a gas motor. With good tunes they will do anything , add fuel, air and go fast lol. I want to hit a bump and have emissions fall off....but don’t want to mess with the fallout so we are keeping it ... at least for now lol

George S yes sir, we are doing well, just have been (for a lack of better terms) effected by life. All is well just have had to put new content on the back burner...hopefully we can get back at it soon. Thanks for checking in on us. 😎

Looking to buy this 3rd light for my 2020 Colorado RST. Your link just takes you to the website. Not the a actual light.Everything I see on the website says 15-18 Colorado. But I’m assuming since they didn’t change the body or style on your 19 or my 20 that they would be the same and fit? I think in 2023 they are changing the body style.Btw there customer service is great. Light is currently out of stock and they emailed me and said they would notify me when it’s in stock.

Tommy Best yeah when we bought it it said it would not fit the 19....but it does. Just make sure that you tighten down evenly to create a good seal....but don’t over tighten to crack the plastic. Hopefully they will be back in stock soon, I really like the looks of it. Thanks for the comment 😎

I can’t answer that truthfully....however this light fit our 2019 perfectly, and have had zero issues the entire time.

Will it fit on a 2020 gmc canyon, and is it legal in texas?

Vasu Burkle so I’m not sure if it fits...I know that according to the box it does not fit ours......lol and by the text of Texas laws no it does not pass......however I have never had issues with the third brake light being smoked and passing inspection.....but if the tail lights are smoked in any way that’s a different story. In other vehicles have failed because of this so I no longer choose smoked tail lights even if they are much brighter than stock.....hope this helps

Has your 3rd brake light started leaking yet? A lot of people have ruined their headliners because the aftermarket lights don't seal as good as the factory ones.

We haven’t had any issues thus far, we do park under cover almost always....but also go through a pretty intense car wash at a minimum once a week. I feel as if you make sure you get a proper seal when installing you will be fine...and check on it from time to time. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I dunno....I know some people over torque it and crack the lenses....or cause it to not sit flush.

That light sucks you can barely see the brake light in the day time when the sun is shining its only visible at night time , not safe at all they should have made that white bar red instead of white , i know because i bought that same brake light .

el tavo I haven’t been able to see it in action from a distance during the day....I tried to hit the brake and run back there but it didn’t work haha....I’ll see if I can get some video of it soon in action to see if it’s not as bright as you say 😳 hopefully it’s bright it looks good lol thanks for watching and the comment

@@rockyaev8287 yea the brake light desighn looks great thats why i got it to, but i was a little disapointed when i seen it on day time i expected it alot brighter im always concerned about safety first before looks , so what i did was i put my jack stick on the brake and pushed the seat up on it lol and thats how i seen it on bright sunny day its not visible much but good luck with yours

el tavo will do, I'm looking for a broken one now so that I don't destroy ours.....and don't have to spend money on something that I'm gonna cut up lol
