3 жыл бұрынWelcome to our channel! Follow us on our journey renovating our 1930’s Arts and Crafts house in Hertfordshire, UK. Renovating both the inside and out has taken several years and is still a work in progress! The house definitely has its challenges being sited at the top of a hill. All projects have been the design in Karen’s eye and whilst she attempts most of the work herself, her husband is on hand with some muscle when needed.

I have to admit that we did use contractors for some of the earlier projects, but watching and recording their progress showed us we could do much of it ourselves going forward. Now we (well definitely me!) are addicted to DIY!

@@OurHomeProjects I'm watching mini digger videos at the moment - Considering hiring one as we did some digging today and it was ridiculously hard doing - damp and heavy clay laced with rocks and bricks and we've got about 10 cubic metres of it that needs to be dug out!

We’ve just started flattening the bottom of the garden and this time (yay!) we hired the guys that did our driveway finish - one came back with his digger, spent 2 days shifting all the soil about. Best £600 I’ve spent!! 🤣 BUT I do understand boys and their toys 😉 Are you getting rid of the soil or can you use it elsewhere to level an area? Getting a dumper might be beneficial too... wish we’d gotten one to help move the soil around, it would have saved digger man a bit of time.
