From what I've been told, this is why Jeep/Ram prolonged the release of the Hurricane into the 1500, GC, JL, and Wagoneer because of the new ECM/ BCM that would go into the 23s. I'm glad they were able to get yours sorted out. For those not in the know, GMC Yukon 6.2L STILL have failing lifters and transmission issues. Lincoln Navigators deal with cam phaser rattles and other Ecoboost related issues. Toyota had brand new Sequoia and Tundras with turbo wastegate and interior quality issues. They ALL have issues. The GC and Wagoneer have an entirely new electrical architecture that is divorced from legacy Chrysler. Anytime there is a major change like that, it will inevitably introduce issues. And no, I'm not taking up for Chrysler since I own several, but I don't care for the fake outrage that is coming from fanboys of other brands.

I do agree that all brands have problems and the lifter problem with small block Chevy’s right now (5.3 or 6.2, makes no difference they have the same lifters) is a major concern. I tend to think maybe they truly had a bad run of lifters from their supplier because the 2021s were dropping like flies. In the truck specific facebook groups the “lifter” posts have slowed way down. But when the 2021s were what was the new trucks it was literally everyday a new post about a lifter failure. However it sure looks like with 7 Wagoneers being at one dealership that they are having big time problems too. It’s always been my experience that when a vehicle has a problem early on it will always have problems. I’d put it on a short leash if it were mine and if something else comes up with it in the near future it would find a new home. In JBs case i don’t think the new BCM architecture had anything to do with his problem. It was straight up a wiring problem which would honestly concern me more than if the module itself would have just been bad about going forward with their specific Wagoneer.

My buddy 2007 Chevy 1500 5.3 just had a BCM failure. When it failed he couldn’t shut off the truck roll down windows or lock doors. Chevy charged him 1300$. I will never buy a vehicle made after the first crash. Check my videos I’d rather motor swap a escort or rewire a Cherokee then buy anything new. My wife’s 1 new car was a 2012 focus. It has 4 DCT transmissions and Ford bought it back. We went to a rav4 and then sienna never looked back.

In this case, from what they wrote. It wasn't the BCM. It had " faulty wiring". As a master dealership mechanic myself with 42 years on the job. That was probably a connector under the seat that wasn't plugged in all the way . Or a single pin had pulled out. Happens a lot. The BCM part was just a re flash because it lost power to the module.

I own a 2022 wagoneer series 3.. just like every one else had the same issue. Now I am battling with paint issues. The paint is chipping all over the vehicle. Hood, side panels, roof, back. Starts with small bubble and then starts to chip out causing the paint to peel off. Dealership and warranty not want to cover the repairs. 3 professional bodyshop have looked at the vehicle, all 3 have stated is a manufacturer defect. I believe is time for lawsuit. Wagoneers are very expensive vehicle for clients going through this issues.

We just got a 2023 Wagoneer L S3. Ours has a noise when pressing the brake pedal while driving. The sound is similar to bagpipes loosing air. The noise started randomly on day one and progressed. We had it in the dealer to fix and they gave us a loaner Wagoneer with similar spec. The loaner didn’t make the noise. The dealer replaced the brake assembly and the noise is still there. The engineers at Jeep told the mechanics at the dealer that the sound is hit or miss. Some make the sound and some don’t. For the price we paid, ifs very annoying and loud. Just wondering if we are the only ones experiencing it?

Thanks for the video on this. For years I have owned a Escalade, Denali or Tahoe for my business vehicle, trading every 3 years or so. I needed to trade my Tahoe last year for tax reasons but took the hit and plan on trading in 2023. I have been questioning another GM with the known valve train issues that apparently GM is ignoring. New GM trucks and SUV's having blown engines and they rebuild the engine under warranty instead of replacing with a crate engine. I have asked 3 salesmen if that issue has been resolved, neither would answer my question and all 3 tried to change the subject. Don't care to have a $90k+ SUV with 2500 miles and a "rebuilt" engine. I test drove 2 Wagoneers in Nov, a Series II that the ride was a downgrade from my Tahoe LTZ and a Series III with the air ride suspension which had a great ride. I don't like them as much as the GM SUV's but thought it may be an option if GM don't address the valve train issue in new vehicles. One thing that is minor to many but just annoyed me on the Wagoneer is the mirrors not folding in all the way, they get about 45 degrees and will hit the windows. That is a feature I use often in tight parking areas, especially on my Ram 3500, but that is pretty much useless on the Wagoneer. I was questioning the Wagoneer option because I feel like it's stepping down from the Tahoe High Country, Denali and Escalade, defiantly not going to consider it now with them having so many issues!

And yep, doesn't help that it's a new model for jeep, who aren't really known for reliability. Might not hurt to look at getting that CPO Lexus/Toyota, used will save you headache and cost. You still will get a good warranty.

I've turned wrenches for over 33 years and the bulk of my vehicles are toyotas, for good reason. When people ask me what to get as far as a vehicle, I just tell them to find out whats in for repairs the least, not maintenance, repairs. And in all the decades in other shops and my own business, domestic brands, in particular GM products, have consistently had the highest rate of repairs and recalls. I'm not going to bash any one brand, but I will say do alot of research before committing yourself to a car payment---oh, and never buy new, make some else eat the depreciation.

Lemon law bro. If the problem started the very day you picket it up off the lot then according to law you take it in and if the problem is not resolved then you have a legal right to a refund or replacement. I did with my Lincoln, it had only 63 total miles on it, and the service manager had to replace my entire car because the engine light persisted on and on and the service department couldn’t find the problem. At first they suggested on ‘tearing’ down the entire engine, but decided to ship the car back to the factory instead. I would not risk traveling long distance’s like that.

Well I’m going to be blunt with you, where this was a wiring issue that would concern me more than if the module itself was just bad. Parts fail all the time and it’s not too uncommon to get something brand new and it be faulty. But to have a wiring issue on a brand new vehicle is not a good sign. It’s possible something got pinched when they installed the seat or some other part but that should have blown a fuse if you had a ground from a wire being pinched. My money would be on a rodent problem. Have the Wagoneers been setting in storage lots after assembly waiting on parts? Anyways I’m glad they got you going and hopefully that will take care of it. However it’s been my personal experience that when a vehicle has problems early on they will continue to have problems. If it were mine it would be on a short leash and if something else comes up in the near future it would find another home.

Techs (and dealers in general) have a distorted view of how common failures are since their literal job is to deal with them. People don't bring their car to the service dept to tell them how they aren't having problems.

Find a cool old car and fix it up. Buy something exciting. As a car collector, and as time moves on, I will not be considering anything with this new type of body control module architecture. No matter how well you maintained it. I. Don’t. Want. It. Companies realized they could remove load wires and install signal wires and control everything with 27 computers that were all made in China. Oh boy that’s how subscription heated seats became a possibility and now you and OnStar can roll your windows down with your phone!!!11 Tesla realized this too. But in a different smarter way. Up the voltage, decrease the wire size. But as far as the big automakers. They implemented this crap to decide when their product will become obsolete.

Go buy her something that hasn’t been updated for 15 years. The 4 runner better be reliable at this point. Let’s talk about problems on the new tundra. Every brand new car that is completely new from the ground up will have problems for the first few model years.

Well it’s a Chrysler fiat product. They are at the bottom of the barrel. No surprise. Waste of money, especially since they have the worst resale value. Ask any tow truck and they always tell me jeeps are on the hook more than any other vehicle

I don't feel sorry for people who don't buy Toyotas and Hondas. If you don't know better by now, then you deserve what you get.
