I feel like there’s a joke and I want context Edit: Is the lore here canon or falls into the same rules as Fate? Edit 2: Does this also takes place in a parallel universe of the 3 Garnts, Connors, and Joeys multiverse or in an alternate timeline in which has three routes, the other two being the Connor and Joey route? Edit 3: After days of research and archiving I’ve now know this……. earthquake equals multiple alternate multiverse timelines about 3 boys in an anime podcast

Ladies and gentleman, sigmas and female sigmas. It’s my great honor to present to you the best, summarized tipps for your upcoming Japan trip: Tipp 1: Fly to Haneda instead of Narita Tipp 2: Use Airbnb instead of racist hotels (Apa) Tipp 3: Plan for high mobile data costs in your budget Tipp 4: Get a prepaid suica card for public transport or to pay with it Tipp 5: Carry cash - don’t expect card payment Tipp 6: (If you’re a weeb) Spend a day or two in Akihabara Tipp 7: If you want special store recommendations listen at 28:34 - 29:30 Tipp 8: If you’re a weeb but quickly get overwhelmed visit Nakano Broadway Tipp 9: If you visited Nakano, make Connor proud and check out the JoJo cafe Tipp 10: Shinjuku and Shibuya are the best places to stay Tipp 11: Maid cafes are overrated - try and find unique, underground cafes instead Tipp 12: For communication use Google translate or deepl (own recommendation) Tipp 13: For good drinks visit an izakaya or the bar areas Ebisu, Daikanyamacho, San-chome or Ni-chome (gay bar district) Tipp 14: Avoid sketchy parts of Golden Gai and bars you get called into Tipp 15: Karaoke is a must for a successful evening Tipp 16: Visit the Hakome Yuryo onsen if you want the full relaxation experience Tipp 17: For the authentic Japanese experience stay in a ryokan Tipp 18: Visit Bagus for golf, ping-pong, dart and pool Tipp 19: For good food and (ski) adventures fly to Hokkaido Tipp 20: Kyoto and Osaka are generally great (expect crowded places and hot, moist temperatures in summer) Tipp 21: Okinawa has great beaches and food Tipp 69: The boys kinda drift off from recommendations to talking about good food so if you’re into specific, authentic dishes listen carefully from 1:26:30

As a cook, I can understand Tsukene, when the cooks are preparing chicken to grill, they aren't getting specific cuts delivered to them (I bet), they're getting whole chickens, and when you break down a chicken you have a fair amount of meat left over that wouldn't really work on a yakitori, so you use that meat to make Tsukene, the quality of the meat is just as good, and it eliminates waste.

I've stayed at Airbnbs all the times I visited Tokyo and Japan. Amazing experience all round. Hosts are all very friendly and welcoming. One of the coolest places I stayed in (which was why my friends and I chose it) was this house owned buy a guy who used the space he converted into an airbnb as a place to display his collections of vintage toys. He had a massive godzilla, star wars, vintage mecha and kaiju collection. It was all in the pics on airbnb as a "toy museum" and it really was. Like even the bedside table had real actual props from The X-Files he had collected. We talked to him when we met him and apparently he was a specialised IMAX Projectionist (of which there are very few in the world) and he gave us gifts at the end of the stay. It was great.

When I went to Japan in 2019 for a 3 week study abroad, it was super fun and life-changing. I didn’t get to do much of my own desires cause it was for school (I feel like we went to every shrine and temple in the Kanagawa prefecture), I loved what I got to do. Went and lived my weeb fantasies in Akihabara, spent way too much money at the Pokémon center in Ikebukuro, had some of the most amazing food (which my professor even paid for so I had extra muns for anime figures), and saw the most amazing aquarium in Osaka. Seriously, the Osaka Aquarium is still my favorite thing I’ve ever been to in my life. If you ever get an opportunity to go to Japan, take it. Especially if you can get a home-stay opportunity. My host mom was this super sweet elderly lady who spoke no English but loved that I preferred rice over bread and that I was passionate about Japanese culture and language. She even made me an onigiri bento for lunch 🥺 she did try to make me explode when we went to a revolving sushi bar and kept making me eat more and more. Sorry to gush, I never get an opportunity to talk about it anymore.

I'm surprised that with how much they've praised unagi no one has mentioned hitsumabushi in Nagoya. Absolutely the most S tier unagi I've ever had. For any car folks out there, look up fun2drive. You can rent classic Japanese sports cars on a guided drive through initial D roads and see Mt Fuji. And since I don't think they mentioned it specifically, dotonbori in Osaka is an absolute swell time. Great food, great people and Kansai specific things.

But it's the same as with Narita airport. Traveling to Gatwick is usually a lot cheaper (even when you include the train fees), and that's why people pick it.

Heathrow is so big and busy all the time though, which makes it hard to get around and out of the actual airport though, which is kind of a problem. Also, too many people going to Heathrow over the other airports causes genuine environmental problems, such as planes stalling in the air because there are so many flights and not enough runways preventing them from landing on busy days and the expansion of Heathrow causing people in the surrounding area to suffer major health conditions from the chemicals that are dispersed into the atmosphere and also causing some to be forcibly evicted due to the government wishing to use their land for the airport.

There is also just a regular commuter train that comes from the Narita airport and is like 12-15 dollars. It also has multiple trains that leave over the course of every hour. Just don't make the mistake I did and get on the express and then realize it's not going to stop at your stop halfway and have a meltdown your first day in Japan! Edit: Also if you're on your own stay at a hostel not a hotel or airbnb. Some hostels offer single rooms and not shared living space. You wanna stay at a hostel because they have built in spaces like bars and lounges to MEET other people travelling solo like yourself. It's your best bet by a mile to interact with and find people to hang out with/ explore! You've heard the boys on the podcast talk about how hard it is to meet new people in Japan. This does not get easier when you have less time and are on vacation. Stay at a hostel, half the people I hung out with approached me first! So if you're more reserved like I am trust me on this!

Hi, I used to work at an arts and craft supply store! Just because a paint is darker doesn't mean it has more pigment. For example blue paint won't suddenly turn darker just because you add more of the exact same color/pigment. The pigment used to make it darker is simply a different pigment or different ratio of pigments altogether. If you add more pigment to a paint base, all that does is make it thicker/more opaque.

Prior to this great episode, some of the tips I saw for people who're moving / traveling to Japan - Japan accepts most major credit cards so as long as you have one you'll be fine. If you have no idea what to try out on a menu ask for a recommendation from the waiter / waitress and they'll more than likely be happy to give you a recommendation. If you sweat you need to bring deodorant that has antiperspirants since a lot of Japanese deodorant doesn't contain that stuff and it's not as strong. Their extra strong strength is the equivalent of America's normal strength but without the stuff to help you stop sweating. So just...bring your own. Bring shoes that're comfortable and easy to take on and off. Since there are buildings in Japan that require no shoes, you should get a pair that you can easily take on and off without hassle so you can save time on where you're going and what you're doing. Japan is a leg country so mini skirts, short shorts, and outfits that show a lot of thigh aren't much of an issue. But women in Japan are very conservative about their breasts so shirts and dresses that show cleavage will make you stand out in a crowd a lot more than you already do. Men will be starring and you'll be making a lot of people blush, some of you might not care but if you wanna blend in then just keep it conservative and wear something maybe an inch below your collar bone.

What is the difference between a hotel and hostel?
@jorshuatee
@jorshuatee 2 жыл бұрын
@@WhySoPrettyJinsoul. Hostels are more "social-" or "group-focused" for lack of a better term. So, things like dorm-style rooms, shared bathrooms, common rooms, etc. In my particular case, I shared a 4-person dorm. But, the hostel also offered private rooms at a higher cost. I'm sure there's more technical differences, but that's my answer from my limited experiences with hostels.

42:00 Note, at most nomihodai (and Japan overall) they don’t really have the same concept of vegetarian as the US and Europe. e.g. If it’s white meat and not pork or beef (or deer or boar), it’s “vegetarian”. Also, cabs get much more expensive after around midnight when the rail closes. So don’t go to a 2 hour nomihodai too late if you’re broke. Otherwise you’ll end up at an all-night karaoke and ride the JR Rail at 6am pissed drunk, alongside Japanese schoolchildren and salarymen. :)
