The ending was absolutely crazy.

I didn’t like the fact that the characters seemed invincible , ward survived ,John b survived a fricking alligator attack , JOHN B’S DAD LITERALLY DIED and somehow they’re all alive ?

i hope they get a win in season 3, i hate the fact that ward keeps get away with everything.

It was fun but i felt unsatisfied at the end....This gold story really needs to conclude at some point cant just do cliff hangers every season

I kinda like season 1 better cause it seems more like a bunch of kids who end up getting into some crazy shit while season 2 they are completely fine with doing crazy ass stuff

The only characters that shone this season were Rafe, Pope and Sarah - performances and writing for those characters was well executed. I feel like they didn't try with anyone else. The writing OVERALL felt abysmally bad compared to the first season and I feel like at least one main player should've died - like Sarah or Ward. The constant "sike" moments annoyed me and really cheapens the experience when the whole show's theme is based around "high stakes" and "danger". Also... *SPOILER* them bringing back John B's dad is one of the most stupid decisions I've ever seen. Talk about ruining the whole point of your show lol.

To me this season was absolutely horrendous. The amount of fake outs and trying too hard to subvert expectations is far too high. There are so much fake stakes and unrealistic.. well everything. The first season was so good because it was teens living a free life searching for a treasure. You could believe it could’ve been you. But this season did not at all convince me that it could be me. They turned Pope into a character that was just obsessed over a material object, they completely abandoned the gold storyline halfway through, and many times through the series I thought finally someone would die to have stakes but instead.. they just brought MORE people back to life. The twist ending completely ruined John B arc and motivation for the whole first season treasure hunt to finish what his dead father started. That went down the drain. It’s just not a good season. First season was fantastic. Second season is a joke to me. It was embarrassing to watch, but that’s my opinion sorry for the rant

Am I the only one who couldn’t stand Kiara this season? Like, at all? I mean, she had her annoying moments in Season 1, but she was at least bearable. In Season 2 though? She has no sense of self awareness, accountability, or responsibility WHATSOEVER. Not to mention her anger and recklessness resulting in stupid decisions made on her part that negatively impacted her friends *(screaming murderer in the middle of the street at Ward).* Plus, she’s incredibly selfish and wishy washy in regards to other people’s feelings *(Pope, her parents etc).* It’s almost like blatant immaturity was the spotlight of her character this season. The same goes for Sarah in certain aspects towards the middle of Season 2. I don’t know, but something weird happened with the writing for certain characters this season.

*SPOILER* ok but Can we talk about how in one season Sarah got kidnapped and extorted, got shot (by her brother) and almost died, got drowned by her brother almost died, saw her dad in an explosion and believe he died, watched her boyfriend not care about her while she was witnessing her father's seemingly death, gets shoved to the ground by some bitch at a party, has to fight an alligator to save her boyfriend, is involved in a car crash, discovers a dead body, gets locked in a wine closet then drugged and kidnapped again, gets choked by her father and almost died again

It feels like the writers felt that they needed to one up season 1 and make it crazier, so they added more chase scenes, fighting, guns, and had too much going on. It just felt too chaotic and not nearly as good as season 1. I found myself not liking much of the main cast, rather appreciating Cleo and other side characters more. I’d give it a 6.5/10 overall

I knew it would never live up to season 1 but season 2 was just a mess from the plot and decision making also the fact that these guys are literally 16 roaming around the country and travelling internationally like its nothing

In the polices defense, their was more proof to John B then ward. And they got mad at their parents for not wanting them to be crazy. Like half the crap they did was of course I wouldn't let my kid drive 8 hours to Charleston because her friend got a note.

After watching season 2, we have to admit some things : -Sarah's character really stood up this season. I really didn't care too much about her on s1 but I totally loved her on season 2. You could feel empathy and sorry for her, specially since she has been through a lot (I mean, she just lost her entire family). -Topper deserved better -Cleo's character was very good introduced. Can't wait to see more of her -I really liked the ending of JJ and his father. Yeah probably his dad didn't deserve to be "free" after all the horrible things he did to his son, but it proves how gentle and kind JJ is and how he was willing to help him. -Kiara's character was kind of weird this season. I like her character but It sucks how she played with Pope's emotions. Also the way she treated her parents was unnecessary and selfish. -John's B character was a downhill this season. -The fact that the writers of OBX gave Pope some recognition and a proper storyline was brilliant. I found his storyline more interesting that John's. -This season was more enjoyable, addictive and interesting than the first one -JJ and Kiara are definitely endgame

Can we talk about when they found the gold cross and Pope was stung. Then he had a serious allergic reaction and he needed to get help. Why did ALL OF THEM have to go with Pope? Seriously? They just found the treasure (cross) and now they were all going to leave it. Next, ALL OF THEM needed to be there for Pope to get the shot? SERIOUSLY. The answer is obviously all of them didn't need to be standing there. So why not 1 person take Pope and the others stay with the TREASURE???? #Seriousplothole

I just got threw with it and I can tell u the ending Is amazing, all I’m going to say is I knew, i just knew. That was one of the best cliffhangers this year so far from Netflix In my opinion.

I thought season 1 was overhyped too tbh 👀but Season 2 really brought it right from the start I was pleasantly surprised. It’s better than season 1 imo.

I completely agree with this review, one main problem for me (Mild Spoiler Alert) is that they keep bringing back character to life that we presumed to be dead, I think that one of the main characters actually dying would make a great plot point.

Rafes actor is seriously amazing

With other teenage shows like ST or Skins, it feels nostalgic and warm because their friendship plays an important role. But the main characters in Outerbanks argue too much with each other and season 1 was too centered on John B. Plus they don't look like a teenager

In this season, Pope was my favorite character.

This show goes around in circles constantly knowing what is about to happen gold found and lost so boring

season 2 was just annoying like they got the gold then lost it they got the cross lost it. like its dum that ward gets away with everything. and towards the end when pope shot the fuel tanks with the gun why didn't he use it to shot the rope so they could not get the cross. IDK its just sus to me🙄 😕😯

Anyone who as seen both seasons can agree that the writing in season 2 was objectively worse than the writing in season 1. Also, when he says the "decisions characters make are bad," but ultimately brought the season up to length, is a cop out. The season had bad writing, plot points, and unbelievable coincidence. The acting from rafe, ward, and some other characters was great, but the season as a whole was brought down by the poor, unnecessarily bad decisions from characters like kiara. They should have treated the Outer Banks setting portion of the show as a slow build from Kiara, JJ, and Pope (& possibly Topper) to find evidence against Rafe and Ward. While that was happening in a smart and methodical way, Sarah and John B could have been recruiting members of the ship (and on shore) to help in locating and heisting the Gold. The season could have then ended with the narrow escape of the Cameron family with the gold. Leading into season 3, the pogues would be strong with Topper and Cleo joining the pogues in order to find a new treasure (the cross). I think that would have made the season much more enjoyable and would make the prospect of season 3 much more interesting. Then the show writers would have a more flushed out set of characters with clear motivations heading into S3. Comment with your opinions on how you think "my version" of the season should have gone.

i only watched the first few episodes and it was horrible so i stopped watching i might finish it. the characters make such stupid decisions like when the black girl(i forgot her name) randomly yelled MURDERER and they broke the camera which was the only thing they had to keep safe like wth.

i feel like part of what this makes this show so good is that they never really get a happy ending this makes it a lot more realistic and unpredictable.

Season 1 was easily a 9.5/10 but man season 2 was just not it for me at all 5/10. Pope did steal the show in this season and was my favorite character. But there was no payoffs from the last season and there was SOOOO many missed opportunity’s. I personally think this show would’ve been better if it would’ve only been a 2 season show. Just disappointed imo.

season 2 was disappointing. i loved season 1-gold storyline was abandoned even tho it’s the whole point of the show. the pope and kie thing was weird. sarah isnt a pogue no matter how hard they try. the dad tried to kill her (???) all i liked was the ending and rafes psychotic break. but yeah and kie getting kicked out, her helping jjs dad, and the the limbrey storyline was weird. they never got the cross back, so many plot holes and loops, ward always ends up alive ANNOYINGLY, and i don’t want sarah or cleo in the group. also this is personal lol but i want sarah and topper to get back together.

Season 2 was ok I felt it was very repetitive of season one really wished they did something different. None of the characters aside from Pope, Rafe and Sarah really changed. They should’ve kept Ward dead in my opinion.

I didn’t watch season one at all, so I’m gonna give it a try. Hopefully I like it and can stream both seasons back to back.

This season was good but holy crap so much shit happened. Every single episode had some sort of major plot changing event. To be honest so many moments felt so unrealistic and were really seen as lazy (from the script writers) for myself. Elements of Coincidence, convenience, and luck were filled to the brim in this season

Im not a fan of this season. I think the characters and actors are brilliant and that might be the only reason I would watch a season 3. However, throughout the season I couldn’t tell what the characters were working towards and what I was kinda rooting for them to achieve. Is it proving John b is innocent, is it finding the original gold, is it finding the cross. The writers wanted to add a mystery similar to the gold in the 1st season but since the gold from the 1st season has been found that can’t be the mystery anymore. Therefore they add the cross which I felt was bit forced : I wasn’t indulged in that mystery as I was in the original. Another forced factor of this season was bringing back “big John” routledge. I can’t even explain how much of a stupid decision that was from the writers but we move. I enjoyed the early episodes, the outer banks gang retrieving rafes gun and Bahamas gang creating a heist to get the gold back. However, from then on after they were reunited it got boring in places and wasn’t as enjoyable. Sorry for the long paragraph 😅😂

I'm sorry guys but I was rooting for the bad guys the whole time.

Once again actions don’t have consequences. They are unreasonably stupid when making decisions and lastly sub plots go nowhere… the concept was good but writing and directing were terribly dragging down the sinking ship that even some of the great performances given couldn’t save.

This show has so much potential but all the characters keep making stupid mistakes, and everyone evil literally gets away with everything and it’s so frustrating to watch. Just follow Ozark’s amazing storyline. When characters die, keep them dead and introduce new ones. Stop letting everyone get away with everything. Now when anyone dies, I won’t believe it and that’s not how reality works.

I liked the second season, but the first was better in my opinion. The writing this seasons as straight trash though. They absolutely murdered Kiara's character by making her act out all the time and having that 2 second relationship with Pope. That whole Pope/Kiara storyline was just a waste of time. Next there's the things that don't make sense, why was Rafe freed when there was still hard evidence of his crime? How did 4 kids lift a 22,000 pound cross and how did Rafe stop it from falling off the ship? Pope, JJ, and Rafe CARRIED this season alongside Sarah. JJ and Pope had the best friendship dynamic and Rafe was turning out to become a great main villain. Then Sarah and her family disconnection made a great sub-plot and character development arc. This show has no goddamn stakes though, no main characters die and nobody gets seriously injured. (Alligator bite and the man walks away?) Hell, even Big John comes back and makes every bit of danger in the show mean nothing. Overall, solid season, but the characters were way weaker, John B was straight boring, and there were no stakes or danger. I still preferred season one though because the writing was much tighter in the premiere season.

I think they did a setback in John B's character this season. They let Sarah, Pope, jj, and Kiara shine or have their moments. Due to the fact that season 1 is almost about John B, I'm okay with him having a setback. John B can't still get a win over Topper 😂
