We have camped in our Model S a few times actually sleeping in the car in 90 degree heat overnight. To keep the AC on we like the "Camper for Tesla" app or you can do the parking brake in neutral trick. Overnight we used about 20 miles of range to keep the cabin 70 degrees.

We charged our X at that charger at Zion last time we were there too, it's great. Costs $5 for the code but totally worth it because we got a great parking spot while all the regular spots were full. I wish more parks would offer charging spots like that.

I live in Utah. It's a beautiful place.

I'm trying to make a road trip from TX to Montana and I thought "I wish I had a Tesla for nothing more than the assisted drive options". But I also was looking at rental prices and it's average $500 a day, not to mention having to plan around charging stations. Its a shame car manufacturers are so far behind in available tech compared to Tesla.

I've towed a mypod teardrop trailer with our model S from Maine to California and back with no issues stayed at KOA's got showers and charged the car as we slept

Holy crap I think I know what Tesla would do with the Semi trucks. It's nothing new but they'd simply play a game of relay racing. Self-driving semi drives to fully charged self-driving semi and automatically undocks it's payload while the fully charged semi is summoned and takes the payload to the destination. Truckers do this now anyway with conventional semi trucks. Charging would take maybe 2hrs on a supercharger for something that big. So the increments would be staggered merely at 2hrs apart. Guys thinking they will lose their job to EV trucks is crazy, not in our or the next lifetime, will they? However, chances are your role would change to Tesla tech support and troubleshooter. The thing is they'd be able to drop off those loads far easier with, truck to trailer tracking, meaning you'd have fewer errors of finding your load in a truck stop. This would also make deliveries more predictable and faster.

When you have cancer, you don't have the luxury of "KILLING Time" waiting to charge to get where you want to go. This convince me not to buy an EV.
